Yesterday was a cooler (relatively speaking) rainy day. For a couple of hours in the evening, I was actually able to open a few windows for the first time since we’ve been here.

We spent most of the evening with our YT friends. Looks like Fiona is not heading this way, so Tuesday night trivia should be a go.

They are full-timers with a Thousand Trails membership, which means they are limited to 3 weeks per campground at a time. They leave here on the 23rd and head back to Fiesta Key. 🙁 Fiesta Key is the other site we considered. They have more on-site amenities, including a bar, a restaurant, and unobstructed sunsets.

Unfortunately for us, the sites are really tight. Like so tight, that you can’t even open your canopy. When you’re new to the biz, you need all the wiggle room you can get.

I would hazard a guess that at least a third of the people here are Thousand Trails full-timers, currently bouncing between those two resorts.

No time soon of course, but I could totally see us spending 4-5 months/year full timing it in the future. At that point, a Thousand Trails membership would make sense … sort of like DVC for RV’ers.

As soon as the rain let up (well darn, I just spoiled my previous post), we went to the Winn-Dixie in Big Pine Key. Upon our friends’ recommendation, we went up the road a bit to check out No Name Bar.

We continued on a bit more onto No Name Key, as they’d told us that’s where we should be able to see some Key Deer.

@JenniferS you had mentioned a friend with a youtube channel so are you going to be featured. Should we look for a video?
Nope. As hard as it is to believe, you only see the “good” photos of us. I wouldn’t want someone with a less critical eye to post a video of me.

(To my credit though, I have never once used a filter. a) I think it’s cheating. b) I don’t even know how. 😂)

Supper was chicken and salad.

I like the chopped salad kits, but only when they are on sale. Today I bought Romaine, shredded parm, and Mike grilled up a lb of bacon. I already had a bottle of Ken’s Garlic Parmesan dressing. (Hey, if it’s good enough for WDW ….)

Chicken was on sale, but only the large packages. We will be eating chicken and salad tomorrow too. Maybe for lunch on Tuesday before Trivia Night too.

That looks really good! I also wish I could get that much food to stretch for a couple of meals

Are we going to be too common now she is a celebrity ? 🧐
My nephew works in LA filming music videos, commercials, etc. and every time he hobknobs with a celebrity I text him, "just want to see if you will still text me back". This last go-round his response was, "Sorry - who is this?"
The kid who has never touched a power tool in his life, is still sticking to “I dropped the cordless drill” on it. Shrug.
He did drop the drill. Ski was probably holding it when he dropped Ski.

We had a pretty significant storm in the early hours this morning. The weight of the rain collapsed our little 10’ x 10’ canopy tent, snapping 5 of the 8 arms. In true Canadian fashion, we duct taped it as best we could.

It’s a goner though. I doubt it survives the next heavy rain. This is why, without fail, we retract the powered canopy attached to the trailer, the second the wind picks up or it rains too hard.

$50 canopy tents are disposable. $1500 electric canopies, not so much.

Yeah, we’re fancy like Applebee’s.
