We just rec'vd a Pin Code

We just received a Pin Code for 35% off moderates and 40% off deluxe resorts. We went ahead and booked dates for Port Orleans - French Quarter. This saved us about $400.00 :sohappy:

The question we have is this; if they offer free dining later - can we switch to the free dining and forego the 35% deal?

Next question; it seems like the free dining is a much better deal than the $400.00 savings. We're (2 adults and 1 child that is 10 yrs old) not big eaters but I would think we would spend more than $400.00 in meals for a 7 day trip.:shrug:

I received a pincode this morning, too, for the 40% off deluxes & villas (& the other percentages @ moderates & values). The dates are little blocks with blackouts in between that carry all the way thru to 12/24. Cool beans. We have no plans to go back right now so we won't be using it. Those of you who have plans to go, keep your eyes peeled! I hope you get this pincode!

To the OP, try to weigh how your family normally eats/drinks throughout a day. You may want to figure into the DDP route the purchase of additional drinks or grocery delivery. Also, unless it's changed for 2011, tips are not included for your table service meals so you need to allow $$ for that.

The rule of thumb is generally that values are better to take the free dining, deluxes are better to take the percentage discount, & moderates you have to weigh. For my family of 4 (hubby, me, & 2 teens) the free dining won when we stayed at POFQ in November.

The dates around your question are:

11/27–12/3 and 12/11–12/24/11

So I would think that means that your dates would NOT work. I suppose there's a chance that as long as you check in by 12/3 it might carry over... But I'm not certain that's how these work.

I received this pin code in my e-mail this morning, too. I have to keep slapping myself every time I reach for the phone - I want to make a reservation! But with DD21 heading off to grad school in the UK in the fall, I need to save my pennies so I can go visit. Disney willl have to be put on hold for a year or two....

We are going in Aug and were orginaly booked with FREE Dinning...When the most current deal came out..40% or 45%..not sure which came out i called and they said changing to this current promo would save me over $400..so with a couple of key strokes the very nice CM saved me over $400 and everything stayed the same...same conformation #'s and everything!!! A few months ago I got a pin code and when i called to see how this would price out...the pin code would have cost us MORE. So all you can do is call when you get a pin code or a new promo comes out and the CM will look at all options and give you the best deal. THey will not offer anything you have to ask the CM is there any deals that could save me money? Good Luck!!!

Got it the other day, it is a wonderful one too! We weren't thinking of going in this fall but now we have to seriously consider it cause this PIN is too great to waste.

The timeframe worked for us but we like going for a few more days than 7 days and I guess that if you put the extra days at the end of the trip you get the discount but if they are before the discount dates you have to go through a whole deal with two different reservations - kind of crazy that you can run past the discount dates and still get it but if you want to add some days on the front end - no dice?????

Got another pin code for a different deal this morning. This one is more like the promotion from several years ago where a family of 4 could spend a week at WDW for xxx amount of dollars. It's for a 5 night/6-day package good for 2/27-3/10/11 and 5/1/11-6/2/11.

I do not know why we recieved another pin code, but it was an answer to our prayers for help on our trip! The pin code from last fall did not contain the dates that we were going, but we took that "leap of faith" that another would come out! Please tlak to Master Yoda about the "extra days" question...he has been such a great help to us! :sohappy:
