Update on Dustin below. He lives just outside of Tampa and drives back and forth everyday to WDW, so I'm not surprised, plus he has a gig lined up at Busch Gardens.

He'll probably continue his brand of humor which I think is a riot. Something tells me he'll be working for the mouse again in the future.

From what I have seen on Instagram, and other social media websites/apps, one question always pops into my mind-

Why do people become so obsessed with certain Cast Members? All I see from this are CM's using people to their advantage; accepting free gifts and trips from people. I just don't get it.

Kudos to Disney for nipping this in the butt. CM's sign contracts with strict rules and they should know this before accepting a position with the company. There are too many people who want to work for The Mouse that will abide by the rules and not try to challenge them or complain when they get in trouble.

Just my $.02..

Eligible for rehire and finding someone who wants that much drama working in their area are two different things.

I completely agree with Disney on this. It's too difficult to train and standardize for the whole character integrity and consistently thing.

Pulling heart strings by saying he has fans that are kids or kids with cancer is just not a valid argument. Guests would enjoy all kinds of things that would frankly go against character values and Disney approved behavior.

Disney has an absolute responsibility to maintain consistent character behavior and training for guests. Fans liked yelling "Andy's Coming" too but Disney nipped that in the bud due to safety concerns and consistency.

Again, 100% on Disney's side here. Well done.

Interesting - hop over to the "Woo" thread (never heard of that moron until now - I guess he trespassed backstage and filmed it for his "fans" and got himself a 3 year ban.

Van was apparently lifted and he's back on the park.

Anyway there is a story of a CM who got a little too much notoriety after he was let go from WDW... He then was ultra moronic by trespassing and stealing from Disney property - and filmed it all... And WDW lifted his ban because of his popularity online.

Now THAT is moronic on all sides.
Adam The Woo is not the only person to get caught filming backstage at WDW, and calling him a moron is a bit harsh, IMO. He did something he was not supposed to do, admitted it, and was willing to pay the price for it. Much less of an offense than the guy that was walking around the utilidors filming.

Harsh yes, but why would ANYONE trespass, film it, post it to a public site and proudly admit to it? He's lucky he wasn't dealt a harsher penalty.

You can make money posting videos to YouTube, for some it's even their career. I really don't think Disney had any options for a harsher penalty, they pretty much did everything they could.

I will agree he's a moron though. Just watch some of his videos. What he does is dangerous and on top of that he really has very little knowledge of many of the places he visits and when he doesn't know what something was he just makes it up.

I *think* they'd have grounds for trespassing charges but, that would be a bad "pr move" if this guy has a following.
That would be very difficult for them to prove. It's much better to have someone "trespassed" then it's a much more clear cut case next time it happens. This is of course exactly what they did. As for PR it wouldn't be bad for Disney but it would be very good for him.

That was mentioned in the thread-how'd he do it?
He explains it here:
He recently returned to WDW and you could tell he was so happy to be back and that he would never jeopardize losing the opportunity again. People make mistakes-it's when they don't learn from them that they deserve what they get.

I like how AdamTheWoo is a moron but this guy who WORKED for Disney was doing things they felt he wasn't supposed to and he's somehow the victim. Where is the logic in that?

The dubsmash guy (whether you like him or not) made a TON of people smile and laugh in a creative way using song snippets relating to characters. He broke no laws.

"Woo" videotaped himself in places he knew were off limits trespassing into CM-only areas and posted it publicly. Then was upset and surprised when they banned him off the property for a year.

Adam the Woo made people smile too. This guy also should have known that such things are grounded upon by his employer.

Yeah, the two are hardly comparable. I would totally defend the CM when compared to Woo.

While yes the CM broke a few company policies, he certainly wasn't criminally trespassing or doing anything that could ever involve a conversation with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
