WDW to Shut Down Character Dubsmashes

I have a hard time understanding why people on here seem to like labeling Adam The Woo as an "idiot" or a "moron" or "annoying"-if you don't like the stuff that he does, fine, but I don't see the need to belittle him, especially when there are many people who do like his videos. As far as his trespassing-what he did was wrong, and, given his love for WDW and the fact that it was almost taken away from him, I can guarantee you that he won't risk a definitive lifetime ban again. And, tbh, if there is any area of WDW that they do not want people trespassing, make it hard for them to gain access-Adam did not break any locks or deceive anyone to go where he did, nor did he go into an area where himself or anyone could be injured, and he did not steal or vandalize anything. The initial lifetime ban was going too far on WDW's part-an initial warning or temporary ban would have been more appropriate.

Look I'll agree with you about name calling isn't necessary however he knew he was trespassing. If I leave my house unlocked it's not giving you permission to come in. So, I'm not accepting the cop out that WDW should try harder to stop people from breaking the law. It's WDW's right to trespass for as long as they want. I think the lifetime ban got his attention. He was definitely enjoying the attention. However, everybody makes mistakes and I think he's learned from it. Personally, I can't watch the videos but if others like the legal ones, I'm all for him doing what he does.

That's because you are defending him instead of evaluating the information objectively. He's an idiot because just like every 'worlds stupidest criminal' show... he was doing things he wasn't supposed to do.. and then made stupid choices about it. By making videos of it and then POSTING THE VIDEO PUBLICALLY ON THE WEB. If its something you know you will get in trouble for.. and you make it your online personality to publish evidence of doing it and identifying yourself... you are a moron. If you don't get that... then you might be one yourself.

Ugh.. another kid making the argument of 'well they didn't TELL me I couldn't do that'. Let me guess.. you also defend shoplifting because... they didn't put it under lock and key? FFS... lack of physical enforcement of constraint doesn't nullify the law or common sense understanding you are expected to abide by.

Not true. They can be enforced forever especially in Florida. He wrote to them asking to get it removed. They turned it down the first year but allowed him in after I think 3 years? But they could have continually denied him.
Well the impression I got was that while the law may be written that way after a few years go by it's harder to actually pursue charges and make them stick. I guess the question would be what is the longest amount of time between when someone has been trespassed and when they were successfully convicted of trespassing.

So, I am assuming you constantly abide by each and every rule and every law that governs your life? Because there is not one person on the face of this earth that can say that. And not once did I ever say that what he did was right-my main point is that the level of punishment should fit the level of the infraction, and in this case, that did not happen. Some people on this thread make it seem as if what he did is on the same level as posting a video of breaking into someone's home-it was a backstage area at a theme park, not some restricted military or government area. What he did was wrong, what he did was stupid, but it did not deserve a lifetime ban.

BTW, you can call me a moron all you want-I could care less. And I'm no kid. And I would like to apologize to the OP for derailing this thread, as I did not expect my comment about Adam to be taken this far.

It's kind of a moot point. Regardless of the time between given past notice... if they found him and said 'you need to leave' - if he didn't comply, he could be arrested. The point of 'tresspassing' someone is simply to make it so notice is given they aren't welcome and making an arrest possible on the next encounter without again having to tell them they aren't welcome.

And given the formality of what they did for notice... I imagine it would be a lot harder to argue that awareness wasn't there.

If I've complied with every law or not is not relevant... The topic is if you are AWARE of the thing not being allowed. You can't sit here and argue Disney doesn't make it very clear these areas are off-limits and by ignoring those limits, you are in the wrong. Just like you don't need things under lock and key to know you aren't allowed to just take things because they aren't being guarded full time. It's a selfish, assine defense to say "well I didn't know..." when its things everyone learns by age 5.

And not once did I ever say that what he did was right-my main point is that the level of punishment should fit the level of the infraction, and in this case, that did not happen

The guy repeatedly violates the company's rules.. willingly.. and boasts about it online. They threw him off property. You know what punishment was.. he was kept out of a freakin THEME PARK... not had his job taken away, car inpounded, or thrown in jail. He was told to stop patronizing a freaking vacation destination. If that is traumatic for someone... get some real help.

The idea of having to manage just how long someone is no longer welcome... is far more a burden than simply telling someone 'beat it!'.

It's a relationship.. the guy could have tried to mend it at anytime.. and ultimately they did. If the guy was caught backstage once and got banned forever... maybe you'd have a point. But we all know it was much more than that.. and the guy was on a trajectory you can't ignore. Disney was within their rights to say 'you are not welcome here'. End of story.

Last I checked the River Country main feature pool is still there, drained, and the rock slides are in place. Not totally without danger

My last word on this, because I think it's clear that we are not going to agree on this, which is fine, is that I think everything that has happened is going to remain in the past. If, given all that has happened, he repeats what he did, then he will deserve what happens to him, but I definitely think he's learned his lesson. Also, if this is used as a precedence, then every other individual who has trespassed on Disney property and posted it on YouTube should be handed the same fate-and I have seen numerous videos of people exploring off-limit areas such as River Country, the utilidors, etc.

He explains it here:
He recently returned to WDW and you could tell he was so happy to be back and that he would never jeopardize losing the opportunity again. People make mistakes-it's when they don't learn from them that they deserve what they get.

Only problem here is he praddles on and on and on and brings up 15 other stories and facinated about and old car...Tip For theFuture Woo..
