Did it ever occur to the moron to ask permission before shoving the camera into the other person's face while he/she lipsyncs to some song?
How do you know he didn't?

I'll be honest, it may be because I'm too old to know about this "phenomenon" but once I looked up a dubsmash I sat here staring at my screen in bewilderment. What a completely useless waste of time. I feel more stupid for having wasted the time to view even a fraction of one of these pieces of garbage. I get that people are just having fun, but good God that is ridiculous looking! And what sort of a-hole makes one of these things and "forces" someone else to be a part of it?? He's wearing an F&B costume on top of BLT...Usually they are a waste and I pass them by in my feed when my nieces are doing them on IG and Facebook but... he had posted somewhere that he asked each character handler and character beforehand (many he knows personally because he works in rides), and the whole thing is literally under 1 minute during M&G because they are only 15 sec clips and it takes several seconds to tell them what he's doing.
I totally understand (after points made here) for corporate not wanting it for copy-cats and not being able to control what goes viral - but the corporate social media team who tries to make things "go viral" does so MISERABLY.
Who cares about the newest cupcake?
Who cares about Stampylongnose (my kids follow his Minecraft kid-tube channel) being a Grand Marshall in a parade? My kids (and myself) had more fun watching this guy lip sync songs with characters. The official WDW social media team is "in-touch" with the general populous as much as DC is.

Disney= fun on their terms only.
Should they give exceptions? No of course not.
Should they put this guy to work doing what he does for these videos? Yes, they should and allow him creative freedom to do so.
Anything that Disney produces is always the same, especially for the parks.
I was not sure if I would like the videos, I went in with a closed mind. But they are actually very funny, creative, and I like the basic way in which they were done without the big production nonsense that people and companies believe will help sell the product.
My take on the videos, is that I really enjoy them. They are entertaining, and with me being in a sour mood and going through rough personal stuff, I needed the brief respite, and the videos fill that need.

To be fair, they're not nearly as out-of-touch as other corporations. Google "Corporate social media fails" and marvel at some of the tragic hilarity, like Build-A-Bear trying to use the 9/11 anniversary to shill stuffed animals.
Correction: WDW's social media isn't out of touch - it's EXTREMELY boring and not creative. Yes the Build-a-Bear is out-of-touch and absolutely horrible. I cannot believe they did that.
Ho, boy.Let's not forget American Apparel posting a picture of the Challenger exploding. Or the SpaghettiOs tweet that will live in infamy.
That's just strange! That's Princess Pony-Head, best friend to Princess Star Butterfly.
