Yeah, reading though it, it’s very outdated. @MisterPenguin I can help if you need a hand catching up. It’s a time consuming process that’s for sure. Appreciate your work!

Thanks for the offer! My work-life got real busy, and honestly, most of the rumors are now either completed or shown to be false. The next step is a big purge. I'll try to get it updated by the end of the weekend. I have about a dozen posts from trusted sources to add... mostly minor stuff.

EPCOT

{This section completed and removed}
  • Expected changes. [here] [here] [here]
    • as a 'phase I' project likely to happen first: there will be a major renovation of the entrance and the central hub of Future World and Innoventions (and maybe the phrase 'Future World' and 'Innoventions' won't survive) [maybe starting 2017]. And say good bye to the memorials out front.
    • Removal of legacy monoliths [and here]
    • Removal of "a few other key structures"
    • More landscaping and greenery
    • New look to what is currently known as Innoventions, with part of it demo'd and some new builds
    • New performance space
    • New fountain
  • Security Entrance
    • As part of the effort to move the 'security bubble' out to include the monorail, the monorail resort guests wind up going through security twice. There is a plan to fix that as part of the front of park rebuild project. [here]
  • Spine plans still up in the air. One plan keeps all of Communicore/Innoventions (regut), another plan razes half of it [here]
    • the plan that razes half of it (the West side) seems to be the winner [here]

      • Opens 2021
      • make that early Spring of 2021 [here]
      • Actually, in development hell, but still projected for MK's 50th (2021). [here] [here]
      • make that possibly opening closer with Ratatouille (fall of 2020) [here]
      • now a beefed up UK ride (probably at the expense of Coco) [here]
      • work should begin in 2019 [here]
    • originally, could have been a D, C, or B level ride [here], but once Poppins was decided upon, only a B or C ride.

    • The IP...
      • A ride based on Brave seems to be the strongly hinted finalist, or the interpretation of such hint could be completely off [here]

      • Mary Poppins is a contender [Jim Hill says MP is top contender with a carousel -- not confirmed by other insiders] [Again, MP is a contender, but not top choice.]

Hi!

I see now Thunder Mountain will be closed for a few weeks in May.

Any other refurbs rumors for May time-frame? Specifically anything in AK and DHS?

Hi!

Well... we need to define what we mean by 'refurb.' Some rides have annual maintenance checks during which broken things are fixed, some things get repainted, and just normal maintenance. This kind of refurb is almost never mentioned by insiders as "a rumor" because, we all know it's going to happen... it happens regularly. The BTMR refurb is too short for any significant changes, like adding the explosion gag found in DL.

Refurbs that make significant changes... now, that is the stuff of rumors. Like the one for Spaceship Earth. Those are recorded here.

But the minor, maintenance refurbs aren't kept track of. They are rarely announced as a rumor and they show up on official schedules in an orderly manner of time.

So, if you want to know if there are any other minor refurbs, Disney has that information on their site and @wdwmagic has them listed on this site.

What's going on over on 429? A lot of new stuff being built. In addition to the Spinghill and Towneplace - there are a few other hotels going up. Getting busy over there. The new land buy isn't exactly consistent with where the build-out is happening (although it is west). I feel this area is going to grow significantly over the next 5-10 years. Just hoping it doesn't turn into I-Drive (or 535) west. But I fear it will.

Do you think this is an area they (Disney) are looking at? Otherwise we WILL have Crossroads West. Which isn't necessarily bad - if it's done right. Any insight you can share?

I haven't heard or seen any rumors as to its use.

There's a thread about it to discuss it and if an insider posts there some info, I'll add it here.

Is there any signs of Space Mountain going down for a overhaul after the 50th? (Maybe with an overhaul for TL but I don’t think it will go that far)

No reliable insider has said there are plans for a major Space Mt refurb either after TRON or the 50th. Plans have been talked about and continuously shelved and will seem to be so indefinitely.

My best guess would be that such a thing wouldn't be on the table until TRON opens. WDW managment in particular are hesitant to have SM down because it's such a key part of the vacation experience. I remember reading the the logic about refurbs is more along the lines of "don't fix unless we have to", since a few months-years without Space Mountain might 'ruin' a lot of first-timers trips. For now I don't mind having the bumpiest and scariest Spaceport in the country 🤣

While true... this thread isn't for the discussion of the rumors or mere guesses otherwise it'd be a thousand pages long. :) It just tracks what our Insiders have said.

Please go to the appropriate thread to discuss veracity of rumors.

No reliable insider has said there are plans for a major Space Mt refurb either after TRON or the 50th. Plans have been talked about and continuously shelved and will seem to be so indefinitely.
Which thread do I go to follow the progress of construction on the Brazil pavilion??

Ok...all seriousness...do we have a list of potential 2020/2021 opening dates up to date?...not set in stone - of course

In the summary, yes. But it’s done by park, not date order.

And there are links to the threads.

All of which you would know if you read post#1.

The summary posts (about 10 posts down from the top) need some updating when I find the time. But in the park-by-park breakdown at the top of the thread, there are the current presumed timelines that are relatively up to date.
