Their act is together. As much as it can be.That may be the pressure Disney needs to get their act together.

All you have to do is put caution tape over the seats you can't sit in. Especially in the more modern theatres that have reserved seating.Maybe they're taking the position that meals are more important than being able to see Dolittle.
Social distancing is probably more difficult to maintain in a theater, too. Sure, you can attempt to spread people out, every 2-3 rows and 3-4 empty seats on each side, perhaps, but anyone who's gone to the movies knows that at least half a dozen people in whatever row you decide to sit in will have to get up every two minutes and step on your feet.
Restaurants and movie theaters would both have similar problems with extended exposure to recirculating air-conditioning, something no amount of distancing is going to help, but at least you don't have to worry about getting stepped on at Olive Garden.
Yep, I think a much more realistic timeframe. This has just been postponed until July 14th.

And today the Governor is asking the theme parks to submit their plans for reopening and include dates.July will be an interesting month. A lot may go down with regards to theme parks opening.

Absolutely. To me though he at least has some kind of knowledge that they have some kind of plan in the works that he is aware of or he wouldn't have made that kind of comment. No politician wants to be asked by the press about where are those theme park plans and opening date over and over.Mind you this is a very fluid situation and things can change quickly.
With reduced capacity there won't be big crowds on the 4th. July 4th will be no different than July 15th, but the 4th makes more of an impressive splash in the news.As things stand right now. With the “full phase 1” opening of Florida, the Shanghai partial opening, the scheduled opening for Locations in the Springs, and the new Union/Disney agreements...
While also assuming no drastic spike/change in Florida case numbers...
my money would be the first limited park opening to be on July 6th. It’s a Monday, like how Shanghai opened, and just past the holiday so they don’t have to fight with a larger potential crowd on the 4th.

What gave you the impression they’re not calculating? That may be the pressure Disney needs to get their act together.
I bet Disney said something to the effect of “you first”And today the Governor is asking the theme parks to submit their plans for reopening and include dates.
Okay...considering the circumstances, sure. I can’t say I would do a better job.Their act is together. As much as it can be.
I’m sure they are “calculating” - I said that specifically earlier. What gave you the impression they’re not calculating?

Submitting your proposal today would look like you are rushing it. The optics of this are important to companies like Disney. They want to open as soon as possible, but if they have a proposal ready to go it wasn’t going to be submitted today.Meanwhile, they have to submit their approval to the county first, before sending to the Governor and none of them have even done that yet. Nobody is any rush. This is going to happen before July, at the earliest.

It sure does. "Disney open on the 4th with no fireworks, no parades, no nothing." Because of this, I would guess after the 4th.With reduced capacity there won't be big crowds on the 4th. July 4th will be no different than July 15th, but the 4th makes more of an impressive splash in the news.
Mmmm, no. It could go the other way too.Submitting your proposal today would look like you are rushing it. The optics of this are important to companies like Disney. They want to open as soon as possible, but if they have a proposal ready to go it wasn’t going to be submitted today.
