Ugh I hate that!!!!!!!

Lolz. I get kinda annoying though. Especially on the Haunted Mansion. Lolz. I like to notice everything... Idk I just feel like I need to tell people all the details Disney has to offer. I hate it when they simply call the Walt Disney World "disney". I get sooo annoyed by that.

A lot of people forget that MGM Studios is no longer called it, but I hear several people say, 'Hollywood Studio's is that new one?'

I can't stand it when people say they are going to MGM...I'm like, hmmm, where's that?

 I encounter this too, but it's people referring to Fastpass as that 'fast track'!

Ditto! I was gonna say this one!

I have the full announcement as my ringtone for text messages. I get the strangest looks from people that don't understand it. I'm waiting for someone to give me that knowing wink.:animwink: That only fans know.

That is awesome!!! Where'd you find that? I love the "insider's wink" concept. Like a stealth club where only the really cool ones "get it". :)

I think you guys hit the main ones. Where I live, everyone just says, "...going to Disney" but people usually know there's a ton to do, not just MK. Although it is very very hard to hold back when they say they are going. I want to know where they are staying, what ADRs they have, etc. And I have a problem giving unsolicited advice...guilty. :drevil:

 yeah I encounter this sometimes.

Like I hate when people think WDW is only MK and try to tell me that it's the only thing to do there.

Sometimes when im at Mk I hear a kid say "we did everything thing at WDW mommy!"

I go nuts over all the acronyms used on this site. Sometimes it takes me forever to figure out what someone is saying. I can see short cuts on texting, but not typing on a forum.

It took my about a few months to final figure them all out! Even though i still stumble on some today!

Someone I work with is going to Orlando next year and plans to visit 'Disneyworld' one day ...... on the understanding that it is A Themepark!! I tried, I really tried to explain, but gave up when I lost the will to live. I hope she enjoys her visit.

I agree - the ones that get me are: people referring to Universal and Disney World as one and the same, and listening to "There's nothing to do at Epcot." What is wrong with them? I hear both frequently. Thank you for the heads up on the ring tone, too!

Have you ever talked to someone about Disney World... or even Disney in general and wanted to correct them or say something only a crazy WDW fan would know?

Stuff like-

Calling SSE "the golf ball"
Calling Spectromagic "the light parade"
Calling Magic Kingdom "Disney/Disney World"
Calling Star Tours "Star Wars ride"

So, do you have any examples?

Unfortunately, I do say all of these things when speaking to my 5 and 4 year old. I know the correct names of each I just find it easier referring to each as "star wars ride", "light parade", etc. I find it funny, my little ones refer to SSE as Epcot. WHenever they see it in pictures or whatever it's Epcot. We'll get it right once they get older.

Not old, just vintage.
A little piece of me dies on the inside when people mix up WDW and DL. The other one that gets to me is calling SSE a golf ball.

I have the biggest problem not speaking in Disney acronyms to non-Disney people. I get a lot of blank stares. I do love being able to text Disney fanatics though about the parks. Makes life so much easier. "Meet me under SSE when you get off of M:S" or "I just got off of CoP and now I'm on my way to iasw" definitely simplifies life.
