After being at Disneyland for the first time in 6 years, my family and I loved it. Enough that when my wife and I had conference in Vegas just three months after being at DLR before, we decided to leave Vegas and go back to DRL. We've decided to spend some of the money we'd normally use for WDW and go back to DLR this summer. It was really great and staying at the Disneyland Hotel was wonderful and as good a hotel as any on WDW property.

I'm voting blindly based on my love of WDW. I have not been to dl but I don't really want to go either based on what I've read / been told.
I can say as someone who has gone to WDW 3-4x per year for the last 10 years, I found DLR to be the equal of WDW on many aspects and was not disappointed at all. I actually found the food, attention to detail, and unique rides/experiences made up for many short comings of WDW. The CMs at DLR were not as friendly as those at WDW maybe because they're all local. I enjoyed staying at the Disneyland Hotel as much as the GF, BC, Poly, or WL. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

I'm not going to vote as I've never been to DLR, but I can't imagine you can beat the original Disneyland, surely? Yes, there's less there, but it's the original!

From what I remember about MK at DLR I think it had a little better rides and more to see and I don't remember the lines being such an issue but this was back in the late 80's when I went. However I was so sold on WDW as a vacation resort experience after our first trip in 2011, I had to vote WDW.

Ive actually never been to DL and reallllllly want to because the 2 parks look incredible DL looks better than MK and California Adventure looks like HS on steroids but my favorite things about Disney World are all the different resorts and dining separate from the parks. So no disrespect to DL BUT Disney World wins for me hands down on shear size and love the fact that there are 4 amazing parks and 2 water parks.

I think it's a tough call since many would say Disneyland (park) would beat MK, but that WDW as a whole would beat DLR as a whole since the bubble kind of bursts outside of the park gates. I remember driving by the Grand Californian, Paradise, Pier and the Disneyland Hotel and then seeing ALL of the other motels/hotels/businesses that also crowd in on that area- in addition to their DTD. It really makes you understand the reason (at least that part) for the Florida Project. Don't get me wrong- it's very cool and magical, but it's not like being in WDW's "bubble."

How can you have an opinion if you've never been to the DLR? This goes to any other person who has an opinion/voting and have never been as well.

I've been to both in the last two years and enjoyed them both for different reasons. The Disneyland trip- we wanted to visit friends in San Diego and go to the zoo, we still had 4 days of vacation time left unplanned and thought Disneyland would be a great addition. We were not disappointed and enjoyed all the rides and layout of the parks more than at Disney World. The Disney World trip was a Family reunion for 11 people over 11 days. So much to do and still not enough time and the dinning options were endless. We typically go to Disney World every 2 to 3 years but now we will be rotating in Disneyland too. For us the deciding factor will be the time we want to spend on the "Disney" portion of our vacation. If we only have 3 or 4 days Disneyland is the better option as it is more compact and jammed full of attractions. If we want more than 4 days, then it's Disney World. Between the 4 Parks, the water parks, all the resorts, and all the Dinning locations there is plenty to do and it fills up a 10 day vacation nicely.
