People can't have opinions for a theme parks if they have not been there, yet they can have opinions about MM+ even thought they have never used it?

Talk about a horrible double standard.

Jimmy Thick- Completely yet honestly...
Having an opinion and a valid vote are 2 different things. People all over the world have opinions about US politics but unless they are citizens they get no vote. Yes?

You know I never get tired of the comparison of the two.........I never get sick of talking about it.

As it stands, I voted for WDW. However.........I had to pick one so that's the one I picked. I will say this though, as a first time family I would tell people to go to WDW. It is bigger, there are more parks, there are two water parks and you never have to leave the grounds if you are there for a week, even more. That can't be said at Disneyland but it doesn't necessarily mean it is better. There is the same feel at both parks. You'll feel magic, you'll feel nostalgic. But I will say that you feel both of those things even more at Disneyland. You know how there is something about the air in WDW that is just different? Well, you feel that in Disneyland too but it cranks up another level. It was Walt's home, it is cozy, you never feel like you are missing anything. I'll tell you what I mean by that. One of the night's we left Disney California Adventure after seeing "World of Color". Both DCA and DL are side by side and there is downtown Disney right there too. As we were walking out of the park we saw the fireworks starting at Disneyland. So we stopped in between the entrances of the two parks and watched them.

Now, there is something to be said about the intimacy and the close knit feeling of DL, and that explains it. As neat as it is to have the land be so big and grand at WDW, it is equally neat that everything in DL is a short walking distance.

I'll also say this. Disneyland is the best park, hands down. I say this as a person who went to Disneyland as a WDW vet with a bit of a biased opinion against Disneyland. I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard DCA was not a great park. All lies. Here is how I rank the Disney Parks I've been to:

Disneyland
Magic Kingdom
Disney California Adventure
Epcot
Animal Kingdom
DHS

Then the water parks of course. And this is not a knock on any Disney Park at all. But no doubt, Disneyland is the cream of the crop. It is #1. And I was surprised at how "Disney-like" and magical DCA felt. It was a really great park on its own. It just has a much more successful bigger brother next door, but in all seriousness, I thoroughly enjoyed that park.

Also, if you are going to Disneyland Resort do not expect to be able to have things to do for 10 days. Enjoy southern California off-site. Lots to do. You can easily put in 4 days in the parks/Downtown Disney though and you can do it a little more leisurely.

The attractions DL does better: Pirates, Small World
The attractions WDW does better: Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror

Everything else is pretty much the same but the difference is the things each park doesn't have that the other does:
Disneyland has: Mr. Toad, Snow White, Pinnochio, Alice in Wonderland, Casey Jr., Storybook Canal boats, Indy, Matterhorn, Captain EO
Disney World has: Carousel of Progress, Hall of President, Country Bear Jamboree

There is a better Toontown in Disneyland. There is a better Fantasyland in Disneyland by far. And I will say this, the whole idea that you are so close to the real world at Disneyland is meaningless the second you walk into the park. You feel like you are in another world, just like WDW.

Folks, on either side, don't ever miss the chance to visit both parks. So long as you can afford it, you aren't a true Disney fan if you are stubborn on either side.
