YES! finally someone remembers.
I almost engaged my (ex)boyfriend in an argument about it while we were there. He spelled it E.P.C.O.T., but it is now Epcot.
It started as EPCOT Center (no periods in between, they're not abreviations or initials, it was an acronym, such as CEO or NATO), then became Epcot '94 and Epcot '95, and then simply Epcot, which is now technically just a name.
I'm reveling in my chance to be actually right about something!!
