Know what I miss most out of all those '72 photos?
The Crystal Palace like it was in that shot.
Calm grown-ups having a nice sit-down meal in a beautiful atmosphere. Not a character meal full of rugrats in sight. Nice.
and no tour groups!

brings back some memories

My first visit was in '73 or '74, and those photos certainly bring back some memories of what is was to see the World for the first time as a kid. I particularly recall the Skyway and subs - and the long, long wait for the subs ... thanks for sharing those with us.

Can you imagine how outdated that technology is by now? It would make the Chuck E Cheese band look good by comparison.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that space is occupied by the incredibly popular PhilharMagic.

looove the pictures. butt i have a feeling that the tea cups picture is from DL and not WDW.. because there isn't a ..how should i put this.. a hood? over the tea cups. Unless back then there weren't.

I don't have a year for you. But the Tea Cups used to not have a roof over them when the park opened (as others mentioned). The main reason the roof was added was to allow the ride to continue running during our frequent, quick brewing, and intense summer storms.

But I'm sure it also helps to keep the riders and the ride itself from becoming blistering hot during the summer.
