WDW Galaxy Edge - gotta get this off my chest!

You guys act like your'e so clever. I didn't want act like a bigshot before but my source is my cousin in Anaheim California and he is a CM that has been assigned to Star Wars Land. He gave me some info that you guys aren't privy to. The biggest scoup is the size of the land at DHS. He and his fellow CM's/supervisors have been laughing at how small the WDW version will be in comparison. I wish I could give more details and other info but I'm afraid it will get traced back to him if I do, I don't want him to lose his job, especially because he has special privelages and can get me into the park for free.

And logic is logic and math is math, no matter how you'd like to twist it. It'll be proven that the land is too small once you see it at capacity on a daily basis.
You do realize that you can see the size of the Hollywood Studios version now, right? I mean, people have taken aerial photos of it as long as it has been under construction. They don't have a big tarp in the sky hiding everything. The size of the land is not the mystery that you seem to think it is. It's already known, and it's almost exactly the same as Disneyland's.

Yes, the one at DHS will be much more packed because Walt Disney World draws exponentially more guests than Disneyland. But that has nothing to do with the size of the land.

I've seen the photos. Aerial views can trick the eye. They don't account for scale. The buildings and walkways are all 1/3 smaller in Florida. I questioned this too but got confirmation from my source.

So, in spite of repeated press announcements and plans filed with SFWD, you're telling us Galaxy's Edge at WDW isn't 14 acres in size? Which is the same size as Galaxy's Edge at DLR.

I don't know where you learned math, but 14 acres in CA is the same size as 14 acres in FL. That's 609,840 total square feet for each land. An acre equals 43,560 square feet, in case you wanted to do the math. Unlike CA, FL is, well, flat.

Do we think Galaxy's Edge in FL will be more crowded than GE in CA? Yes, because annual attendance at DLR in 2018 was approximately 18.6 million. While that same year, over 52 million people visited WDW, over 40% of the record 126 million people who visited FL in 2018. MK alone was nearly 21 million visitors in 2018. And it's the smallest of the 4 WDW parks at only 105 acres. While Disneyland is what, 85 acres? DHS is 135 acres, in case you want to know.

Proof, other than your cousin.

Okay, let's assume you're being genuine here and not just trolling.

First, Disney does not disclose information about their plans at Walt Disney World to front line cast members, or even supervisors, at Disneyland. They just don't.

Second, if there was such information out there, you can be sure that your cousin talking to you would not be the one and only leak. This news would be plastered across every Disney fan site, vlog, and social media account out there.

Third, Disney has publicly and repeatedly given the details of the land, including the fact that it is the same size in Florida as in California. For a publicly traded company to deliberately and knowingly mislead the public and its stockholders about something that could have such massive financial implications would get Disney prosecuted.

Fourth, the land opens at WDW in just over two months. Everyone will see for themselves how large it is. Lying about its size now would gain nothing for Disney while simultaneously infuriating their customers.

In short, there is no way your claim about the land's size is true.

Just talked to my source. He says the difference in construction is due to California being on the metric system.

I’d love a guaranteed 4 hour time slot in Batuu east with minimal crowds. But it just ain’t gonna happen.

I do hope WDW announces how they'll be handling their GE grand opening ASAP though. I’m anxious to know what my game plan will be on August 29.

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess you'll be melting in hellish heat and humidity while waiting in lines that make the DMV look fun and relaxing. 🤣

Well, this is where the line to enter will start...

In all seriousness, I think WDW will be handling GE with the extra EMH from September 1st until November 2nd. But opening weekend (August 29th-31st), according to the Parks Blog, Hollywood Studios will open at 6 a.m. for all guests. There will be no extra Extra EMH on those days.

I plan on using the extra, extra hours when I'm there in September.

Non-natives merely adopted the the heat. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see humidity under 90% until I was already a man, and by then it was nothing to me.

So you and your cousin are both wrong. DL and DHS are both 14 acres. They are the same size.

And California is not on the metric system.

Quess you have never seen 2 homes that are the exact same sq footage but are entirely different in usable or visual space. Called poor design
