Will WDW be around in 100 or even 200 years from now? what do you see in the future, how many new parks will there be? will WDW have anymore room to expand?

Where do you see WDW in the long term future

Just thought this would be an interesting topic to dicuss with all the rumors going on.

Considering the fact that Disney is an EXTREAMLY large corporation...I would have to say I dont think WDW is going anywhere for a very long time...I predict the apocolypse before the closing of Disney world...

Do you think that they will have to buy more land to accommodate future plans at WDW. I mean I know its big,but surely it will fill all the land before too long.
Also, I know they are building Honk Kong DL, Tokyo DS and DLP Studios, but do you think that there is anywhere else disney may build a park or two?

I think WDW will be around for eternity! I am sure at some point they will run out of land, but at that point who can imagine how many parks there could be...we could probably spend a year there!! But, they also can continue to update and change things, so hopefully we won't get bored (I know I never could) and there will be something different, however small, everytime you go. I look forward to going there for many years to come...(and considering my young age, that's a long time...lol)

Cannot see the future and can only hope that Walt Disney World will stay up to date with the change of times, expand, and that my children's, children (my grandchildren) will be able to enjoy the wonders of the WDW. I would love to know my grandchildren are enjoying the things we enjoyed at WDW.

In 100 years, Disney will rule the world! :) Honestly, I think Disney will always be around, because of the message the company conveys and the because of the extreme size of the organization...

Fast forward 200 years...Lake Buena Vista Florida....

"NOT RECOGNIZABLE BY 21ST CENTURY EYES..."

Think about all the changes in the last 50 years...the celestial advancements in technology....and the rapidity of these advancements...

WDW, if it survives, will not be as we know it...
It may be that theme parks will not be necessary....the same thrill will be experienced in virtual reality WITH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY...

Can u say nuclear powered rides?

oK...BEAM ME UP SCOTTY...HURRY!

Yeah, I agree Tramp. You'll just plug your computer into your brain (like in the Matrix) and all senses will be computer generated. By that time though I'd bet the economy would be severely suffering because of all the companies that would go out of business due to such technology.

Either that or there'd be a Disney Mars! (Disney Universe could also be the name)

In 200 years, Florida will probably be underwater, so WDW may not exist because of that... either that or humans will have already destroyed the Earth by then, so it doesn't matter.

Jee, you're outlook is kinda...well...depressing...:(

Maybe, in 200 years, people will actually care about their planet on a wide scale basis and will be able to save Florida from being submerged...

Either that, or the technology will exist that some sort of man-made barrier will be built to protect it...think of it as Atlantis...only bigger...

Also, this in from the carnival fortune teller I talked to yesterday:
Think Walt Disney Planet...the host Planet? Pluto!! :D ;)

Disney will be around for ever. It may loss its animation monoply to Dreamworks but by then they will own them. One of the WDW bus drivers told me that Disney has room for 4 more theme parks and plently of room for the resorts and other things they want to put up. Also Disney is still buying land when there is a chance. I heard that they bought 1,000 acres nere the MAgic Kingdom.

Who knows, Disney might even build a space statio of their own. Then we all can go to space. The ultimate dream, i would say so.

In the television series "Babylon 5"* one character made a reference to taking a vacation on "Disney Planet." Why stop with a space station?

*The best sci-fi show ever, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Yes Spocky - I agree with you?

These are the voyages of the star ship disney guys

To Infinity and Beyond!!!!

yes I could get into this theme - perhaps Disney should have new theme park based on space

Just like the guy who has just paid £14.5 million to go into space a the first space tourist

I am sure disney would charge a little bit less than this (altho not much):)

Disney would be prepared and somehow raise the land. They would then rename it The Islands of Disney or DisneyIsles and they would only be reachable by The Disney Cruise Line.:p
