Tequila Lunch at La Hacienda for food and wine. We've done this event with various friends before and the food is always really good. The portions here this year seemed smaller but were still super yummy.
Roasted Poblano and chicharron cream soup served with the blanco tequila
Seared scallop with huitlacoche cream and chipotle bernaise served with the Milagro select reposado tequila
Braised shank with mole verde over fingerling potatoes left and pan seared Covina with guajillo pesto cream sauce. Paired with the Casa Noble anjeo.
I forgot to write down the info for the dessert but if I remember correctly (after all that tequila) it was a tres leche coconut milk rice pudding. Can't remember the name of the dessert tequila...sorry.

Oh...and I almost forgot. My brother in law has both mushroom and shellfish allergies so instead of the scallop he got a cheese empanada.

Yeah right lol! It was a tasting menu but honestly compared to doing this twice before in years past and the other similar events we did the same week their portions were wayyyyy smaller but super yummy but yep...one huge scallop as the second course.

Cocktail hour prior to F&W dinner at Jiko
They had wine and two food offerings. One was basically an empanada the other was a take on a caprese salad. There was tomato, mozzarella, and squash (or maybe zucchini) blossom were topped with a parmesan cheese ice cream (the pic is before they topped it with the ice cream). Both were yummy. The only negative we had about this part of the evening was they had this part of the even on a patio looking out over the animals but it was about 95 degrees with no air moving.
