Do they sell these in the parks? We're going in a couple of weeks and we wanted to have some water spray fans to keep us cool. But we're wondering if they sell them in the parks and how much they are. Brookstone has some locally that are $20 each. If Disney has them are they cheaper than that? Thanks!

Not only are they there - they are ubiquitous, at least in the summer months.

I can't remember how much they cost. We bought one for our DDs to share a few years ago, and they promptly lost it!

I bought one this summer at DHS, and I think it was around $18. I never, ever would have thought I'd pay that for a water fan, but we were waiting for a parade and it was sooooo hot....and they fill it with ICE water when you buy it!!!

You can actually get spray fans MUCH cheaper at walmart (under &10). I've bought them there before to take to the beach, soccer games, etc...I just forgot to pack one for our Disney trip. I'd try to find some cheap ones before you go.

There $17.00 and are sold pretty much everywhere, there blue with some characters on it. There a little flimsy if you can find a cheaper one somewhere eles I'd recommend it unless your set on the Disney ones, mainly because of the price and the quality isnt the greatest.

I know they were $12 at DAK.

The funny thing is how people would just leave it there on the bench or on a trash bin.

In fact, of all the time I ever gone to the parks, those spray fans are the #1 items I always see left behind.

Ugh, my biggest pet peave in the parks are kids with these fans...
I LOOOOVE trying to get a pic of my kids or whatever, and getting sprayed by someone else's water all over my camera. It's the only thing that can make my husband flip out while at Disney.
I guess being natives we just don't mind the heat, and totally don't understand the need to spray oneself down, at night, while waiting in an inside queu like say, last time we were inside for Philharmagic...
Sorry, had to rant, lol... I think they are gross :)

I do understand not wanting to get sprayed by other people's water bottles. Especially when holding a camera. But my mom has a heart condition and will need to not get overheated. So if I see you when I'm there (since we're going to be there around the same time) I'll try not to spray you. ;)

Thanks :) I didn't mean to offend. I can certainly understand not wanting to get overheated, it can ruin a vacation. I think that you can also get cups of ice for free anywhere they have drinks, I'm sure someone can verify that info. and that might come in handy too :)

Last year my younger cousin bought one for the price of 3 dollars because of the cashiers mistake of thinking it was a water bottle. They were priced around 18 dollars at the time.

Great... while you are both there maybe you can ride Splash Mt and get sprayed together while singing Kumbaya! :zipit:

I found the ones sold at Walmart weren't that good. Maybe it was just this particular brand but the fan didn't spin fast enough and most of the water just hit the fan and dripped off instead of a nice cool mist in your face.

I thought the Disney ones were horribly overpriced but it was sooooo worth it. They are wonderful in the heat. They're already filled up with cold water and have the batteries in them. The fan spins fast and you do get a nice mist of water in your face!

One warning though, some of the battery compartments are known to pop open and then your batteries fall out (quite annoying). Disney will gladly exchange the fan for you but it even happened to the second one we got! I finally taped it up with bandaids (it was the only thing I had) and it solved the problem quite nicely. Maybe you should pack some tape or bandaids just in case the one you buy has the same problem!

I agree! The ones at Disney are crazy expensive but so worth it. When we have bought the walmart ones they just don't work as well. And yes, we've had to have ours replaced because the batteries have fallen out.

Believe me, you will have no problem finding them in the parks, there are stations set up everywhere! And I believe the last time a bought one it was $18, but I'm sure the price could have went up thou. Here's a tip, if you buy one, they are kept on ice at the stations, during our entire stay, whenever we wanted the water in the spray fan to be a bit colder, we would just go to a stand that was selling them and ask the CM if we could take some ice. Was told sure thing everytime! Enjoy

You wont miss them... Evry other store will be seling them, and around the afternoon parade they usually have a CM selling them (that is if it is a hot day...)

They sell around $18 - $20... and usually last, granted I have had issues with some of mine before but ther eis a chance with any product.

They do help you feel better and cool down a little, granted it is also best to find AC in a store or most Quick service resturants from time to time too.

Just be sure to keep it filled with ICE WATER. Spraying unchilled water in the Florida humidity can actually make some people hotter.

Personally I don't like them. They tend to make a sweaty situation even worse.

We bought one our first day there and it was really good. It is a bit of a pain to have to carry it everywhere (or wear it with the strap) but it really helped keep the four of us cool. We did have a problem with the first one we bought (the door where the batteries go in kept popping open), but the exchange was no problem (we bought it in DHS and exchanged it at POP, just make sure to keep the receipt).

My wife got 5 at Wal Mart before we left... As others Noted, the fan did not work well…but they served the purpose.
We filled them with ICE only before we left the hotel. The ice would melt and stay cold all day.
