It is kinda funny the amount of people that read one of his dumb threads (with a poll of course) and get upset. and then when people are to the point of irate, he says they don't get the point and he bails. classic.

Re-read my previous post. That should tell you just how (un/non)irate I am by it all......

Not really fair to judge.. some people might have emotional connections that you don't know about, which is why they well up/cry. It might not just be *being there*.

That's really true. My grandparents LOVED WDW. Every time I walk past their paver (on the way to the GF/ MK from the Poly- their favorite resort) I cry like a baby. I miss them so much......so thankful for the memories!

I don't always get a chance to see "their" paver, so sometimes I cry looking at the (similar) pavers leading up to the MK entrance. ;)

I got very emotional just being in the MK on my birthday last year, like I never had before. But it was different....

I live in Orlando and usually go to WDW (usually Epcot) on the weekends. Last summer my husband and I had some serious financial issues, and at the same time my pass expired... needless to say I couldn't renew it. So for months all I did was sit at home, worry, cry, stress out... I was getting really depressed, and the fact that my birthday was coming up didn't help.

My husband reminded me about the free birthday ticket thing the night before and told me I should just go. I wasn't sure about going on my birthday alone, but I went, and chose the MK.

As I walked into the park, I was so happy and grateful just to be there, able to forget my troubles for a day, and I ended up having such a perfect time, from open to close, I felt the "Magic" more than ever. I really needed that, and so yeah, I welled up several times that day. :o

The first night of our trip we see Illuminations, and I tear up because I am so happy. The last night of our trip we always see Illuminations and it always makes me tear up knowing it is almost over. My kids think I am a sap.

When I go to Disney I cry when I pay for my park admission. I also cry when I get the bill for my food at the restaurants. I have even been known to cry when they tell me the total cost for the souveniers I am buying. And then at checkout, I cry when I get my hotel bill.

Other than that, I'm pretty much all smiles while at Disney. :)

This past trip (12/09) my fiancee and I went without my kids so I/we could have a vacation without them (as they are going with their Mom this year and me in 2011). Their first trip was 2007 with their Mom and me (we were divorced then and still took them and had a great time....but remembered many reasons why I'm divorced...LOL) :ROFLOL:

I can tell you I will probably never go back without them. Remembering the joy in their faces at every turn and the wonderment they experienced made certain things tough. Magic Kingdom gave me the most "trouble". Wishes was impossible not to cry thru and SpectroMagic was almost equally as difficult. The rest of MK was "ok" for me and the other 3 parks I was fine for the most part.

Everyone has so many different reasons for becoming emotional and after my last trip I can sympathize with each and every one of them.

A crying moment at WDW?

It's when you finally get your dear old grandmother to Disney World.
You roll her, in her wheel chair, through the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. She looks around, back and forth, and has a big smile on her face.
Then about half way down Main Steet she slumps in her wheel chair.
You stop and lean over her as she softly says, 'Thank you so much for getting me here. Mmmmm.. I think I'm going now.'
And then she's gone.

So you leave the Magic Kingdom, get back to the parking lot, tie her to the top of the station wagon and drive home.

I'll admit to getting a little teary eyed during RoE

I always get choked up the first time i drive onto property. Has always been the case for as long as i can remember. It is almost an, "it nice to be home" kind of feeling. This last time though, i have to say, i did get choked up in the American Adventure pavilion. Hearing the singers and then seeing the show. I made a point to look around the room and realized probably less then half were from the US. I like people from other countries so see this side of America rather then what they see on CNN and MSNBC. It is now my favorite show on property with CoP a close second. And that is mostly because Walt liked CoP so i feel it is a little part of him still at WDW.

The first time I saw the castle lighting show at Christmas got me & Illuminations does too. The only other time was getting on the ferry when we went last May. My sisters boyfriend worked in watercraft and died on his way home from work three weeks before hand. The weekend we were there in May was supposed to be a big birthday celebration for me, my dh, & my sisters boyfriend b/c our birthdays were 3 days in a row. The whole trip had a very different tone than we had planned, but it ended up being a great weekend of celebrating & remembering of an amazing life.
