Wasps

1. There's a difference between your property and a theme park, though

2. Bees arent THAT useless in certain aspects of life.

3. People have allergies to plant life and everything else of the sort but you dont see them calling for those to be wiped out

4. You cant control nature. That's like people saying you can keep the alligators off the Disney property completely when they're native to the state of Florida.

It's physically impossible to keep bees away from guests at Disney 24/7.People die from bees! They don't die from plants they die from bees people lives are more important than bees. We all went banannas over a kid being eaten by an alligator and totally changed everything but I or someone else dies from lack of pesticide to kill bees and wasps who cares, and yes Im sorry human life is more important than bugs.

Serious question-

I realize that some people do have a severe allergic reaction to bees, that definitely would be scary! But what do said people do everywhere else they go?

Exactly what I've been thinking this whole time. Bees/Wasps just aren't at Disney...they aren't freaking animatronic or something. I am allergic to many things and I just make sure to try to keep aware and carry my epi-pens everywhere.

This may sound odd, but, I am very fortunate. At 68 years old, lately I have had a number of occasions to have medical procedures done. After reading this it finally makes sense why they look at me odd and ask the same question again. First it's... do you have any allergies? When I reply "none that I know of", they ask me again if I am sure. One would think that by now I would be aware if I had any or not. I now consider myself very lucky. I've been stung many times in my life by any number of insects and the only one I ever had any reaction to was a Deer Fly bite, which I, without thinking, scratched when it started itching. I have no reaction at all if I remember not to touch the spot. I don't have any food allergies, no pollen problems, no sneezing runny eyes, etc. I do have a low tolerance for high levels of BS, but, other then that, I feel pretty lucky. You can imagine that this year I have had to grab the tissues quite often considering current news events.

I have heard of crazy bees at AKL a few years ago but I have never seen a bee or a wasp at Disney World. I hope this isn't some kind of new budget cut where they cut back on spraying the property thoroughly.

OMG, this is just awful. In your case, I hope Disney comped you something.
First time we checked into AKL there was a nest right on out balcony. Wasps or bees not sure. Called in and left for dinner, it was gone by the time we returned.
Every park disney or not that I have seen with soda machines or slushy ones outside always has wasps, yellowjackets etc around it

I am not going to go through this whole thread deleting specific posts. The posters involved in this nonsense know who they are - just be warned that this behavior is to stop going forward. I am also a bit tired of all the *asterisks* being used. Enough already, as my dear departed mother would say.

Wait. That's not true?

Well, from what I understand, they only call Pest Management if it's above the size listed as a "problem gator", which I believe is 3-4 in length. A gator the size of my shoe isn't going to prove much of a threat, but tell that to a helicopter parent worried about their "precious prince/ princess".

Baby gator venom is much more potent than adult gator venom.

Why are posts being deleted? Can we not talk about the topics that are being discussed in the posts that are no longer visible?

The topic is wasps at WDW - and whether or not WDW is responsible for keeping all parks/resorts/water parks/parking lots/Disney Springs, etc wasp free. Not spiders, snakes or gators. Or love bugs.
