Mine hasn't shipped yet, either. Past releases from Disney Editions have been notoriously late (Imagineering Field Guide to MK was delayed for months. Field guide to Epcot also is now due in June rather than Alex Wright's original plans for March). Hopefully soon.

It`s looking like a delay. Amazon still havn`t shipped mine, and play.com are awaiting stock.

A little insight into this based on what happened with the Imagineering Field Guide to MK. Apparently the reason the MK Field Guide was late (according to the author, Imagineer Alex Wright) is that they missed a single deadline by a very short period of time. However, with publishers, you have to fit into the printing house's schedule. So, if you're a day or so late, you may have already missed your production "window" and have to wait for another "window" to open. Kind of like a spacecraft launch. They may only miss a launch window by five minutes, but it may be a few months before another opens up.

I checked online... a few other retailers still have the old date yet some others have Oct 07. I wonder why they need another year and a half for the book. Did someone drop the manuscript in the shredder?

What is this book supposed to be about? Is it like a historical reference or something else?

Here`s part of the (very nice) response from Amazon.com:

Our latest information indicates that "Walt Disney's Legends of
Imagineering and the Genesis of the Disney Theme Park" has not yet
been released and the expected release date is not known. As soon as
a release date has been determined for this item, we will add that
information to our web site.

While we are confident that copies will be made available, we cannot
provide more precise information about the fulfillment of the order.

I hope that you would appreciate that being the retailers we are
totally dependant on our suppliers for the supply, and the latest
information from our suppliers shows that they are facing unexpected
delays in obtaining this item.

Amazon have a new date of July 15th 2008. At this rate it`ll be a book about extinct attractions.

The latest DVC magazine seemed to offer hope for the impending release of Imagineering Legends; Art of WDW; and WDW Secrets, history, whatever book, too.
