You are playing down the new additions a lot again, plus they can and have increased more trains on ride runs more boats etc. The wait times on the rides you listed also have been been inflated a good deal for the most part reported by many actual trip reports and bloggers etc.
I’ve found touring plans to be much more accurate than the actual Disney app. They have the best data out there IMHO. However, even if they are inflated they would have been for last year too so the comparison stands either way. You can’t just dismiss things as fake news when they don’t fit your narrative. Adding a significant number of additional people right now would be a disaster for guests. IMHO they are close to maxed out without finding some other way to add to ride capacity.

What additions am I down playing? As far as I know they added plexiglass to a handful of rides to try to increase capacity but they still don’t get close to normal capacity on those rides and there is some question on whether the plexiglass is actually a safe alternative to physical distancing. As far as other entertainment, shows and attractions there are still an awful lot of things missing. My point is not to poo poo the things being added back it’s just to highlight that small additions and/or an hour here and there added back to the park hours are not a sign of the start of a return to something close to normal. We won‘t see that until the vaccine is widely available and that’s likely at least 5-6 months away. For now it’s hang on and try to keep the place open safely. As the second wave ramps up in FL I’m sure they are keeping an eye on crowd size. They increased capacity as case numbers dropped, there’s no reason to believe they won’t ramp down if community spread worsens. I have no idea what the triggers would be, but I’m sure Disney management has them.

They are a Covid denier troll.
I don’t know about the troll part. He’s been consistent in his position for months now so I think it’s more likely that is just the way he really feels as opposed to doing it to get a rise out of people. I don’t agree on a lot of the stuff @legwand77 says related to Covid, but he seems to have a sincere interest in WDW in general. I would consider a troll someone who just says things to be controversial with no real interest in the topic at hand.

On the Covid denier part that shoe probably fits pretty well if you want to slap a label on it. There are strong opinions on both sides of the Covid situation and I have no issue debating the topic with someone I don’t agree with most of the time. It may come across as arguing but if we all agreed on everything there would be nothing to talk about. As far as WDW is concerned, he is right about one thing, WDW has operated for almost 5 months now with no real safety issues that we know of. They appear to have figured out how to be open and also be safe. That’s no guarantee things continue that way, but it’s a fact at least for now.

A Covid denier smh, I am far from it, been pretty obvious about that and you know that by now. Frankly there aren’t many if any any Covid deniers on here. You have more people calling people Covid deniers on here just because it fits their narrative, some go as far as calling a nurse that has treated actual Covid patients a Covid denier. Tells me all I need to know. Like I have said over and over again for months but for those in the back once again. I am not a Covid denier, and yet in a few pages of posts the usual suspects will say it once again.

I think it depends on how you define a “Covid denier”. If the narrow definition is someone who thinks Covid is a hoax then yes, I’d agree with you. I think most people have a broader definition that includes people who actively oppose Covid safety restrictions and/or downplay the seriousness of the virus. In your case you have been pretty vocal about downplaying negative statistics. I don’t know why you would think a nurse couldn’t be a Covid denier. Nurses are people too and have opinions like anyone else. There are nurses and doctors you can find with a simple google search who are firmly in what I consider the Covid denier camp.

In any case it’s silly to spend time worrying about labels and definitions of who qualifies as what. Your stance from the beginning has been consistent and tends to downplay negative news or statistics. Call it whatever you want.

I'm ok with any park being open. Where my issue is has to do with increasing capacity.

Okay!

I'm not sure how I feel because while Disney may increase capacity, they are very strict on masks and social distancing.

Dollywood on the other hand seems to be very relaxed with people and mask wearing. I got nervous just watching videos. (Although we were convinced to book there for next Thanksgiving!)

Dollywood is fine, downtown Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is a different story

You’ll love it. If you have the time, plan for a day in the Smoky Mountains as well. It’s one of the few national parks with no admission fee and it’s quite spectacular.

Why wouldn’t it be in my opinion? There is no formal definition of a covid denier that I know of. I was just letting him know why I said in my opinion the shoe sorta fit on that description.

Yeah, probably. I could really care less though, that’s the difference. Not sure why you guys get so triggered by that label anyway. I’ve been called worse by some of the people here.
Cool, as you now admit to being a Covid denier , sounds good, doesn’t bother me either let’s move on as they say

To get things back on topic I saw that the NYE hours at MK were extended until 11PM but not past midnight (the other 3 parks are 8, 9 and 10). In previous non-pandemic years all 4 parks stayed open until midnight at least. So is the hope or plan that everyone leaves the parks and goes off property for the clock turning midnight? Or are they just hoping most locals go home and celebrate there? Disney Springs still lists 11pm as the closing time 12/31 but will that prevent the vendors from offering a NYE package that includes the “ball drop” moment? Do any of the hotels have anything special planned for the turn of midnight? I hadn’t seen anything like that talked about but I imagine people will want to do something if they are out and about that night.
