If rD is limiting bibs to 40%-50% of usual numbers, registering for Princess next month is going to be a nightmare. Wish you could select more than one race at a time.

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?

I can buy that they probably limited Marathon Weekend registrations to some degree. Do we know for sure whether they limited any more significantly than for Wine and Dine? I keep on seeing people saying that W&D was normal, but it seemed to me both W&D and Marathon went comparably quickly, especially compared to last year when I was able to sign up for the challenges for both weekends weeks after registration opened.

I was in the process of paying for the W&D 5k when the race sold out. NEVER had that happen before.

The one thing I keep thinking about. If marathon is cancelled and is turned into a virtual race. I may have a hard time exercising self control and not signing up for some of the races. This is of course if the medals are as good as last years.

EDIT: Not saying I want the event to be cancelled but it’s just a thought.

BAD THOUGHT! In comparison to the actual race, virtual sucks, even with a nice medal. Besides that, I usually need
the gospel singers to get me through the last .2 mile to the finish. :D

The thing about me is that when the races are held in WDW I cannot partake in them because travel expenses and all that. When they are held virtually though I can partake in them like everyone else. That is why I’m such a supporter of virtual races.

Now with that being said their is ONE thing you should know about me.

Despite my Many, Many, Many trips to WDW I have NEVER been to an official runDisney event (yet I’m working toward it) so I really don’t know what I’m missing. The only “race” I’ve ever been to in person was the Castaway Cay 5K. Was actually my first “race” ever. Since though that isn’t an official runDisney event and takes place on every cruise I don’t count it toward my runDisney event total. I’m sure being there in person is much better though, just being in WDW is enough for me.

These virtuals though, have gotten me into running the 5K challenge has ensured I have gotten some running in. Since I’m able to clear 5K’s now I have signed up for my first (virtual) 10K wine and dine. As I keep moving up distances on the virtual races I am better preparing myself for when I can actually go down to WDW.

...I’m sure though that cheering and all the good stuff that goes along with that helps a lot! Eventually, I will make it down to WDW for a race.

You definitely should run a RunDisney race. I was actually signed up for the first Disney Marathon, but circumstances came up and I
was not able to make the trip. I have run the Disney Marathon 5 times since 2014. It is not a race. It is an event. It is very cool to run
through the parks, the entertainment out on the course, including characters. Even while suffering through some of the miles, (it can
get a little hot, even in January), you will enjoy the experience.

If they cancel the January race, I really hope they do it prior to September 30 so that I can cancel my reservation and bank those February Use Year DVC points to 2021.

Does Disney make you make that decision that early? You can cancel a reservation within 30 days for a full refund with a regular reservation.

That is what I thought. I was just asking if they have different requirements?

If you want to bank points into the next year, you must do it by a certain deadline, usually 4 months before the end your use year. If you don't want points to go into a "holding account", you have to cancel your reservation at least 30 days before check-in.

But DVC is a tad more flexible right now.

Thank you! I have only take a cursory look at DVC and did not know these details.
