I can't believe it's marathon weekend already! I'm doing my first full on Sunday and I'm so unprepared. :banghead: Anyway, as this is the first race I've done while I've actually lived in Florida, I'll be driving to the race for the first time. Does anybody have a suggested time for getting to Epcot? I'm in Corral G and I don't want to be too far back if I can help it.

There's been a party for the perfect runners, and they've been granted free acces to the wdw marathon for life.

The return of DLR races has been announced, and they mentioned the wish to have races in all Disney parcs (asia!)

Oh what a wonderful gesture for those ultra-dedicated runners! Has the number of “perfect 25” participants been posted anywhere? That’s truly an amazing feat and they certainly deserve the celebration!

I'm not sure, but it looks like their names are on that cake. There's something written on one of those tiers. I guess there's only be a few perfects left after 25 years, so the gesture is easy to make.

Paris perfect 25, here I come! #23togo

It depends on how much time you think you’ll need beforehand. They want you in the corrals by 5, and suggest allowing 20 minutes to the start. There’s also bag check, which can either be a total cluster or nothing. It is a slow shuffle down Woodpecker Lane and you don’t want to feel rushed, so their estimation is pretty accurate. Personally, as someone who isn’t concerned with photo ops or dance parties, and is only worried about restroom stops ;) I usually try to aim for 4:15-4:30. I figure I can wait in the car to stay warm for a bit if I’m too early. Don’t be worried if you see a long line of cars to get in - it usually moves pretty efficiently as everyone is going to the same place and wants to get there quickly as well. Have fun and good luck!

Thanks for sharing this info. Can you provide a little more on what was announced? I “did the google”and didn’t see anything online yet and I have not seen any more posts here about what was announced and when.

Someone on a dutch board mentioned this, based on info found online at social media. I'll ask her about specific sources.

Half today was great!! Cool not cold but then cold at finish. Finished under 2hours....had to take it slower bc MARATHON looms ahead.

Great race with ample on course fun. Even stopped for 3 pics (no lines) with Sebastian, suzy and perla, and capn jack.

Thanks so much. I want to be early but not too early.

Also..is Osceola parkway to world drive the best route to epcot? I’m coming from near world center.

View attachment 254373 My 5K was great; I was proud of myself for being so warm. I used 5 layers and I was never cold with the waiting around. Tomorrow the 10K I will be employing the same strategy. Stay warm.

Oh AK was MOBBED. Had lunch at Nomad and rode Everest 2x. Single rider. Insanity over there, worse than what I've seen for multiple NYE trips.

Where are the socks?

I arrived at the parking lot around 4:20 this morning and had plenty of time. Hung out in the car until a little before 4:40 and was able to slowly walk to bag check (non-existent line) and use the porta potties a few times without lines. I’d say the set up this morning was perhaps the best experience I’ve encountered with runDisney races. Very calm and efficient.

With the full, you should be fine taking Osceola in - I don’t think they close the road until closer to 5:30 and you’d already be at the start. They were parking 3 lots at once this morning - if possible, stay to the left and try to get into the Explore lot so you don’t have to walk as far. We lucked out big time this morning!

@LAKid53 - I PR'd but I don't know yet by how much (around 20 minutes I think), but given that I was injured when I ran my first and waited in line at least 20 mins for my picture with Mickey and Minnie at DLP this past year and then had to run too fast to get out of the park, it isnt surprising to me. The first 11ish miles went really well (but OMG running up the on-ramp is BRUTAL!) and I really struggled for a bit more than a mile and then suddenly around 12.5 I found the energy to run to the end. My first solo half and I'm pleased with how it went. Next stop: Castle to Chateau challenge in September

Now that my races are over I can now deal with replacing the suitcase the airlines broke on my flight to WDW ...
