We got "an exception" ;) call today. I am very grateful. I could see them taking a hardline but it shows me that they actually handle each request individually. Logically if I sent my time in surely I would send my wife's since I registered us both at the same time and sent in POT's.

Great news!

3) Before exiting the park via the parade exit just below Splash Mountain, there is a new loop that goes up to Big Thunder Mountain and back before heading out.

As I'm refreshing my mind about this area, I think the loop out is going to be on boardwalk. Take a hard right after the churro/pretzel/turkey leg kiosk (can't remember exactly what it sells) and run out on the path that goes over the Rivers of America, and then turning around and running back across the bridge that goes over the Splash Mountain drop/loop. I hope I'm wrong as I forsee a lot of wipe outs at that corner if the wood is wet, never mind the log jam for the later corrals.

Yeah, I think you are probably right. The map is not to scale, but it doesn't the loop doesn't look narrow enough to be up and back through the same path (the Splash bridge). And that bridge doesn't seem wide enough to have people going both directions over it.

I think I found another slight change from the old route. The new Harambe Marketplace in Africa looks like it caused the route to go a bit farther west than it did before, heading through that new area and out to the Tusker House area before turning south and then heading back into Asia. Before, it turned south before you got out into the main part of Harambe.

All the detail you could ever want for the marathon course: http://www.usatf.org/events/courses/maps/showMap.asp?courseID=FL12027TY

Thanks. This was posted on the previous page, which is how I ended up making the corrections to my initial post.

USATF map has finally been posted and can be seen here -> http://www.usatf.org/events/courses/maps/showMap.asp?courseID=FL12027TY if anyone want's something better/different than the one in the book.

Normally I see these posts and am like, "Yeah - let's go!" But I can barely keep my eyes open after watching the midnight premiere of Star Wars The Force Awakens, then having to be to work by 06:30. So I've got to take a pass about getting pumped up for the race today. ;)
the family and i got tickets for Imax on christmas night cant wait! ... so just get some rest and it will be here before you know it.. its crazy how this year has flown by!;)

Remind me, how is Trackshack involved? Registration is done through Active, but the data is maintained by Trackshack?

I didn't see where anyone responded to your question about TrackShack's involvement. Here is the best answer I can give you. Track Shack is contracted by runDisney to organize/direct the Orlando races. They're responsible for most, if not all, of the logistical items pertaining to the race itself. For instance, locally, we have a race organization that provides race day services which includes start/finish line, bib pickup, etc.

runDisney has VERY few actual employees as a business unit of Disney Sports (may be wrong on the name here)

Thanks, I didn't know Track Shack was involved that much. I thought they were limited to maintaining changes in the race registrations. I'm really surprised how little Disney does themselves sometimes.

This was the course for the Jingle Jungle 5K. We went in and through Harambe Market.

Yep, since 2006, I don't ever recall the AK portion of the marathon ever going through Africa. It always dumped you into the park from backstage near the entrance to Maharajah's Jungle trek. There was a variation 1 or 2 years where instead of going around the Dinoland carnival rides, you ran in front of the entrance to Dinosaur and out on Restaurantosaurus Road...or I could just be thinking of the Circle of Life 5K.
