It’s the same as last year. Just diff paint it’s boring to say the least. Not much to the creative mind. Here is the pic I took last December.
So they have done the same thing, but even less than last year... Wow.
I know money isn't unlimited, but this as a pretty unimpressive display for years now...
They need to lean into the Mary Blair aesthetic...
The contemporary back in the 70s had an enormous tree suspended from the ceiling and imaginative decorations... They can do better.... They should do better....

Where it was prior.....Or put it where the Arcade is...Move the arcade elsewhere...
Have they moved it in the last year? I remember there is the main gift shop along the northeast wall. There is also the Fantasia shop which sells pins, etc. toward the northern end of the A frame which is near the Mary Blair gingerbread sculpture. Are you referring to that?

The whole concourse needs bulldozed and redone… maybe once WDI learns how to design Disney resorts again
I was about to say, I wouldn't trust them in the concourse with the Mary Blair art. The lower lobby is fantastic but you just know they'd mess up the mural in the concourse.

Just dump the stupid gift shop in the middle. If they really need merch space, expand the Bayview gifts down towards Outer Rim or have the shop on the other side expand into the arcade. We don't need three stores in a high traffic area.

Exactly this.
There are plenty of spaces to sell stuff...Filling the concourse with this thing really messed up the feeling of space. It was nice when there were benches and plants in that area... I would have preferred a modernist water feature with seating...a relaxing place to sit between the shops...not the frenetic pace of the other side of the concourse with it's restaurants and bustle. This "shop" overgrown kiosk never fit and never looked good here... tacky and temporary looking.

So, in an open A frame, where do you suggest they put it?

There are other store locations at the Contemporary -- that's why there wasn't originally a gift shop in the center of the concourse.

It looks terrible and makes the whole area feel significantly smaller/more cramped than it actually is.

Okay, so you're referring to the Fantasia shop which sells pins, puzzles, etc., not the gift shop along the northeastern wall. Just clarifying. Gotcha.

Yeah, I don't know what it's named but that's probably right. I just know that when I went to the Contemporary a few years ago having the gift shop with temporary walls in the middle of the concourse was jarring.

That said, we did find a specific plush there that my GF wanted and was apparently sold out everywhere else.

I remember when it looked like this...

the shops were along the walls and the central area was trees and planters and seating.

The Disney's Parks Christmas Day Parade is up there with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...or it use to be.☹️ Even at 56, I enjoy them both, BUT Disney's Parade is not longer a filmed 'Parade'...instead of seeing the entire parade as it is, you only get to see bits and pieces. It use to be LIVE...but to save money? or make the broadcast with no flaws, they PRE-TAPE segments of the parade, the whole parade is not even running through the park the day of filming. You only get to see a few floats coming down MSUSA, never from any other land. That would not be bad to watch, but lately, the 2 hours for the parade are filled as a BIG INFOMERCIAL!
For ONCE, can't they just show the LIVE PARADE, in its entirety, and not push Disney resorts and cruise lines!? As fans, we know what is available, but most CANNOT AFFORD to stay on property!
So, that being said, How many are going to watch The Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade on Christmas Day? I know I will have it on as BACKGROUND NOISE while I start to prepare dinner. And TO ME, that's sad to think that kids nowadays will not know how it was! All they see is COMMERCIALISM of the holiday!

OK, I'll get down off my soapbox! Thanks for listening!
