Joe is very much a DAK specialist.

If you ever watch a Documentary about AK , he knows basically everything and is interviewed for every ride and ever element on the ride lol. He wears this huge earring that looks like its going to snap his ear off. Some one can correct me if I am wrong. I laugh because it seems he is the only guy who knows anything about AK.

I totally disagree, also. I happened to be a kid 20 years ago, and EPCOT was my favorite park in WDW. I dont even remember caring much about World Showcase - Future World was THE BEST in my youngster opinion. Now, we've got a few things that dont fit the theme, and whats left that does isnt very strong. I would have much rather they worked on the THEME and what was best for it. In my opinion, looking ahead to the future is a BIG part of what Disney means to me.

I like you :D
As a "youngster" in 1983 - I remember EPCOT Center Futureworld vividly. That and Space Mountain are my memories. I loved EPCOT. This was true in 1993 as well. As a high school kid, I still loved all Futureworld had to offer. I remember thinking, man - this place is dated and worn out but I still love it. Nearly 20 years later I still love Epcot, but feel it's severely lacking in theme and direction. I don't care that Mission Space replaced Horizons (ok, I do, but I get progress), but I do care that I don't know what I'm supposed to get out of Futureworld anymore.

How does Kathy's new role impact the WDI/TDO/Burbank relationship?

Kathy was the big VP in charge of Cars Land. She showed up in nearly every promotional video and PR piece they released about Cars Land in the last three years.

My sense, and from what Kathy has said about her own role in all that PR released on Cars Land, is that Kathy is like a top dog project manager role. In WDI show biz language they call that an "Executive Producer", but in the real world of major construction projects she's like an executive project manager, or program manager.

Assuming she takes on the same role she had with Cars Land, Kathy Mangum seems to have been moved out to WDW to be the head "producer" and manager of some major expansion/construction project WDI is doing for a theme park in WDW. The only thing Disney has announced on this scale is Avatarland, but there might be something else up their sleeve too! :D

While I do agree a Carsland would be what it takes to get DHS up to par, I prefer to see it only in Anaheim. I am planning a trip there next summer, just to see the re-imagined California Adventure as I was there 5 years ago when construction was just starting on the re-theming of everything. But of course I will spend at least two days at Disneyland Park as you can't forget about all the classic rides that are still there and not torn down for meet n greets.

This is why i love disneyland they have a place for the old rides and experiences that will always be enjoyable and memorable (DL) And they have a place for the new ideas and technologies that are so amazing!

Walt made sure their was enough room for new ideas. He didn't do that so what is existing would be removed for something new. WDW makes it seem like they have the space issues that DL has. That should keep the classic magic kingdom rides the way they are. But dont get this confused with me not liking the new FL because i love it(every part of it that is new not taken down for something else). When WDW finds them in a situation similar to DL then they can start replacing the old for new but right now it shouldnt be happening.

I hope Kathy Mangum is given the oversight and a real authority to do this (whatever it may be) assignment with high attention to detail and thematic integrity. From what I can tell, Carsland looks great and if she's given this kind of budget, I'm going to be very excited.

It'd be nice if she were here to expedite the project (based on her trial and errors in DCA) and the timetables get moved up for construction. I know it's a different world in Florida, but I'm trying to see this from multiple angles.

People at that level aren't really the designers, they are managers.

On your other point, there is only one reason to spread out construction as long as Disney has in the past. Corporate accounting. Dragging out construction costs, but hits corporate budgets at a slower rate.
