Unscrupulous reporting that Disney refutes the closure, saying the billboard removal is just routine maintenance. I guess that means we can expect 20,000 Leagues and Horizons to re-open any day now.

It would have to be a completely new sign then. The detailed photos from Blog Mickey show that the sign was cut off rather haphazardly

Short term: 50th museum, possible including Walt's plane
Long term: Black box (easily rethemeable dark ride)

To be fair, I was told pretty much any “temporarily closed” store would be getting their windows covered shortly. Almost all the unused stores have become overflow stockrooms and it’s been deemed “bad show” to have guests see closed shops and look in and see boxes strewn about. Not saying this ISNT indicative of something larger happening with the Mermaid soundstage, but also saying don’t be surprised if other closed stores start to have their windows covered as well.
