Oh my god I just saw there's an option for a "princess with diabetes". 2 questions...why is that even an option when diabetes can be prevented if you eat right? And 2...why not just bring in Wilford Brimley to fill that role? Although I doubt he'd be interested in wearing a dress.

But not creating threads like this is....
I'm actually glad someone did have the courage & heart to create a thread like this.

What is so wrong with children fighting illness, disabilities, etc. having their own animated characters to look up to as influence? Some of society's most overlooked are those who have fought the hardest fights & overcome the largest hurdles.

Well, like @mousehockey37 said earlier, those kids go to WDW to forget about their problems. Why should Disney provide a constant reminder to them?

Children like to relate to others and if they can see a princess can fight through her imperfection or disability and still make a difference it will make them feel good.

Well actually....

"People who have type 1 diabetes can help prevent or delay the development of complications by keeping their blood sugar in a target range. They also need regular medical checkups to detect early signs of complications. If complications are treated early, the damage may be stopped, slowed, or possibly reversed."

Research...it's what's for dinner :p

If calling "putting facts in front of your face" that you blatantly ignore "trolling", you don't know what trolling actually IS.

Youre saying the only way a child with a disability or one with a mental illness can only be treated special is if they have their own princess with the same thing to relate to? So a child with a terminal illness can only feel happiness if Disney creates a character with the same thing? THAT is trolling.

Uh, no it isn't. It's a discussion this person felt was important enough or just fun enough to have. If it doesn't interest you, then don't participate.

Oh my gosh be quiet my nephew has type 1 diabetes and it has nothing to do with diet. How are people supposed to know a healthy toddler is one step away from a coma? You are all know it all's.
And you going off the rails is certainly not helping your side at all. Name calling is certainly not appealing either.
