Volcano Bay

Does anyone know how long the lines to ride are once Tapu Tapu tells you it's your turn? So if you wait 120 minutes on your lounge chair, then your wrist band buzzes, and you head to the ride, do you walk straight on? Or are the queues full of people returning as well? I guess it would mostly depend on the slide.

Not sure what it's like in person, but the recent reviews have all been more of the same. I know the backlash will be coming, but after 3 weeks, sorry, but it's inexcusable. Universal has been well aware that there are serious problems with the park. But they're still charging full price, still charging ridiculous parking fees, and still charging for towels (Still can't get over that). They need to start thinking big picture here. They seem to hope and believe that guests will simply see Volcano Bay as a separate diversion from Universal, despite Universals attempt to convince us all this is a 3rd theme park. People aren't going to walk out being PO'd at Volcano Bay. They're going to walk out being PO'd at Universal. I read one review where they denied someone a refund because they were in the park for 7 hours, despite that family not getting ride a single slide. Guest Relations stop has over 90 minute lines of people complaining. Jesus, if they can't figure out or decide on an immediate solution, shut the damn thing down until they do. Now It's simple greed and lack of any concern or consideration towards guests.

They're still getting killed on those reviews aren't they, absolutely brutal. Just looked on Tripadvisor and if anything they're getting worse. Of course some maybe fake but I'm surprised that the rudeness of cast members at customer services seems to becoming an issue with a number of people.

Personally I'd drop prices slightly for the time being and publicly announce this is being done as the park isn't operating at 100% right now with longer than anticipated waits. That way folk know in advance that they may have to wait a long time for rides and have the choice to go or not so there won't be as many disgruntled guests?

I don't think the bad reviews are fake. I think if anything, the good reviews could be. Whenever a review says "Don't pay attention to all the bad reviews", it's a red flag.

I agree about the rudeness apparently being displayed as of late by management. Ridiculous. No doubt, they're incredibly frustrated. But they either need to suck it up, or get another job.

Really? That's absurd. When did that start?
Forever.
We would just take ours from the hotel (will do the same at VB)

I actually can't think of a water park that provides towels at no charge. Or free lockers.

The free parking at TL and BB is actually the most impressive thing, as I can't think of another water park with free parking either.

Note: I'm only speaking domestically- no clue about the international parks.

Always been the case, though we've always take our own so never pay. Really can't think of a good reason not to take our own towels and I've always been amazed there's actually a market in renting towels!

My memory must be really bad. I really don't remember ever paying for towels at TL or BB. Maybe we took our own towels.

It works like the lockers. You pay a fee plus deposit, and then when you turn your towel back in you get the deposit back. Last time I rented a towel it ended up actually costing only $3 or something like that.

Don't worry, there's things I did last week I can't remember :)

As an aside, does anyone know if there's any space for more loungers to be placed around VB as that seems to be a huge complaint? TL and BB seem to have areas all over to set base and sit down yet aerial shots of VB seem to show a limited area in front of the wave pool as being the main area there? If you're going to wait a while in a virtual queue you're probably better having more areas to sit as not everyone (my wife for instance) wants to spend a long time standing or in the water?
