'Villains Unleashed' hard ticketed event coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in August

My proposal would be to make "Unleash the Villians" a weekend offering in the September/October months kind of how "Star Wars Weekends" are during the late spring/early Summer. I TBH feel bummed out that it's hard ticketed. Oh well it's always nice to dream anyway.

Good idea to hard ticket it-can't make money from the cm/ap crowd

My only complaint is that these offerings should be available to all guests.

If they continue with all of these hard ticket offerings, there's going to be an obvious divide between the the upper echelon of guests and everyone else. It's not what Disney has stood for sine its founding.
I am very happy with these new hard tickets. If you can't afford them, you still have the bare bones experience

It needed to be a hard ticketed event or it would be a disaster just like the LTM event was. At least this way they can have some control of the event and hopefully be better planned.

Technically they are available to all guests. You just have to buy a ticket. I'm sure, aside from wanting to make a buck, they want to control the capacity and how many actually enter the park this time. I can't faut them for the latter.

And for around $70, it's really not that bad of a price, IMHO. It's less than the cost of one-day admission for several hours of exclusive offerings. Believe me, I'm pretty broke and understand not everyone can come up with the money, but it's extremely doable. I was honestly expecting around what they are doing for Harambe Nights. Although we'll see exactly what said price is, tomorrow? I guess.

Should it be a free event? Probably, but again, look at last time and the tons and tons of guests who overran the park. I'm sure they want some control over it.

I'm unclear as to when the tickets will go on sale… Have you heard yet?

Edit: wooooo found out.

For my friend Scarlett : tickets on sale tomorrow. AP/DVC Adult is $67 advance and $71 same day. Kids price is $5 less. No general pricing yet. Those go on sale June 9.

Thanks for the pricing info. Very pleasantly surprised it's $67. Happy about that.

I am getting a but frustrated/concerned about the more of these "ticketed" events. The more $$$ Disney can get out of us, the more they'll keep reducing the activities included in your "regular" vacation package price, which includes closing the parks earlier for these so-called ticketed events! I just think it's sad, but that is just MHO.:(

Well.

It was free last year. Limited Time Magic.

The first taste is always free....

So what will it take you guys to buy a ticket? Does it need to be more than what was offered for Unleash the Villains at Limited Time Magic? Are you looking for more rare meet and greets, food and drinks, new firework show?
