Disney certainly has shown ample ability to disappoint me, but I’d be surprised if they don’t at least put a ride show building outside the RR berm. Which is pretty standard operating procedure for Disney.Just a guess, then: 14 acres - 6.5 acres = 7.5 acres for Villains.

Now that show buildings need not be obscured, out-of-berm placement is less likely, no? I’d say it’s credible that conservations are happening about ways to add space but I’m curious about what that means for the budget of the overall project. I’d rather have a small well funded land than a huge area that ran out of money to build anything amazing.Any credibility to the thought they might use the plot right behind small world for a few extra acres?
It'll have problems hiding HM and IaSW buildings, it's up against a road, it's hemmed in by WDRR and a canal, and, it's very near the fireworks launch.Any credibility to the thought they might use the plot right behind small world for a few extra acres?
Likely too small for an attraction pad and not suitable for guest footpath. It'll have problems hiding HM and IaSW buildings, it's up against a road, it's hemmed in by WDRR and a canal, and, it's very near the fireworks launch.
So... not likely.
Yeah that was my one thought if they could just utilize it for part of an indoor attraction. But it may be too small.Likely too small for an attraction pad and not suitable for guest footpath.
I think Villains is perfect at Magic Kingdom and only kind of makes sense at DHS because of Fantasmic.I still kinda wish they were bringing Villains to DHS. Remove Indy and build into the parking lot. I do like the story of villains in MK but it just seems like it would solve a lot of problems by allowing Cars to push back a bit. As long as they built some rides without a height restriction too, I think it could be a home run.
Course, playing devil’s advocate, A Maleficent coaster and a villains stage show would round out the offering nicely at Mk and be more redundant at DHS.
I hope they have a really good plan in place.
That's a good point. Plus, the Villains will get their own show right across the street next to RnRC. Makes you wonder if RnRC + ToT could have been rethemed to villains and they drop the Sunset Boulevard theme in that area.I think Villains is perfect at Magic Kingdom and only kind of makes sense at DHS because of Fantasmic.
Of the two, I'd rather Cars be going into DHS and Villains being a go for Magic.
I also highly doubt the "second major attraction" is referring to a stage show. The way it was framed at D23 is sounded like two rides.
I think Disney knew that just retheming 2 rides and 1 show and incorporating a show would not make people very happy with a Villians land. It's definitely up there in even the general public for what people wanted in the parks. It would be like announcing Rock N Rollercoaster becoming the Monsters Inc Coaster as a retheme without any suspension. That's a good point. I really hope whatever they do there doesn't have the same effect on fireworks as what they did in DHS.I still think Jack from DSNY has the right idea with villains land’s size (around 11 acres) and having the probable dark ride’s show building go behind HMView attachment 835666

That would be awesome for the fireworksfor sure - I hope what winds up happening is similar to what is going on now at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland where they leverage the main park's fireworks but then have different music, etc to provide a different experience
I think that would be cool to have a villains version of the show going on ... would help spread the crowd some (and from Disney's end they can sell more dessert parties)
Imagine its an entirely different show essentially utilizing the alternate angle of the fireworks with a cool lighting package change for the land afterwards for the last hour or so of operation.for sure - I hope what winds up happening is similar to what is going on now at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland where they leverage the main park's fireworks but then have different music, etc to provide a different experience
