At the Risk of reading through 68 pages of 'imagineering' do we have any concrete proposals for what will be going on here, or was this announcement just 'classic Josh'.

???
D23 Brazil showed the villains planned to be featured and the storyline of the land:
"In our story, a mysterious spell has been cast, summoning all these villains from every realm. In this land, the heroes – they don’t come to save the day, and there might not be a happily ever after." - [Source]

Seems like Classic Josh... There have been no concrete proposals that have been released... There has been talk and one sketchy piece of concept art. That's it. For an area that is supposed to begin construction in a few months, you would think they would release something a little more specific other than a roller coaster and another attraction ( which could mean anything)...Could be a meet and greet like Fairytale Hall... they call that an "attraction" too.

Sounds like 'CLASSIC JOSH'.

There is definitely going to be a coster and a 2nd ride that has yet to be finalized because there seems to be some debate about which concept to go with for that one. Plus some shops and places to eat.

Well that clarifies everything! lol So, basically it is a place with villains...

It depends. How long have the villains been there? Have they established specific territories or have they all just arrived and we're put into a power battle between the villains who want to be the most powerful. The backstory is certainly a starting point and it'll hopefully expand into Disney's best new land since Pandora?

D23 Brazil showed a collection of random villain images taken from a pre-existing card game to create the illusion of progress.

Except they never once said the villain images was concept art from Villains Land. They outright said these are the villains that will influence the villain land and gave a backstory of the land. We're not going to get all the information in one go for a project set to open by the end of the decade

I cannot with some of you people. They are building the land. Be patient. They have announced it at more than one event and all of this “they are never going to build it” or “they haven’t announced anything real” is not productive. Just have fun with us and armchair imagineer, please. :)

Now, what kind of dope popcorn buckets can we expect in this land???

I’m sure they’ll build it, or something like it. It’s just so far off still, it is subject to winds of change just like the table-top festival center at Epcot was.

Yup. Just like that third major land that was part of the MGM redo - the one they actually spent money reconfiguring the parking lot to accommodate.

They may build this land. I’d give it about a 55% chance. But I don’t think we’ve seen anything that should come close to convincing us. Remember the “Beyond Thunder Mountain” material that was displayed at D23 a year or so ago that has disappeared into thin air?

Right now, the primary use of “Villains Land” for Disney is to mute criticism of the loss of RoA. Or does everyone think it’s a coincidence they announced two decades-old “fan-favorite” additions to cover the removal of Rivers and, probably, Muppets?

There was a ride pitch for Villain's Mountain like 17 years ago where you were on a boat traveling through Bald Mountain and come upon the Villain's having a meeting.. they spot you and a chase ensues with a splash down sort of thing... So the multi-villain thing had been discussed before... it just was not time... it would have been where the New Fantasyland Forest extension was built...
Right, I suspect some variant of that will take place and as I said upthread, it wouldn't surprise me if it's using the Shanghai Pirates tech or at the very least a large capacity boat ride system. I have no idea what the dispatch intervals are or the capacity levels are for things like Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey (16 guests per boat), Sindbad's Storybook Voyage (24 per boat), Battle for the Sunken Treasure (30 per boat).

It always confused me that the Ringmaster from Dumbo is one of the villains here.

We don't need anything more specific, at least not now. Disney needs to get out of the habit of releasing details far too soon. I say take a page from Universal and let the construction actually begin before we hear more. That way, hopefully, we'd hear more concrete details on the land instead of Disney having an announcement for every little minute thing.
