Very first time Disney trip

My kids were this age in our trip before last, they loved the shows, especially (The Little Mermaid) meet & greets, and they adored Pizza Planet at MGM! Philharmagic is a great show and it features so many of the characters the kids (grown up ones too) love. I agree,I would buy a guide and read over it before going. Hope you have a wonderful time! (Capture as much of it as you can with camera/video, it is so great to look back especially when you are planning another trip....)

A lot of good advice has been given. I think to give you a more broad view of WDW and what it has to offer, you can go with Birnbaum's guides which I've always liked

I also agree that if you arrive at MK when it opens, you can beat the crowds to Fantasyland and ride Peter Pan before the wait becomes horribly long :brick: Not only that, but if you arrive about 10 minutes before, Mickey and the gang ride in on the train and welcome you to MK :D

If it's getting too hot and unbearable in the parks, here are my recommendations for A/C attraction bliss:

MK: Tomorrowland Transit authority- blue little train that gives you a nice tour of Tomorrowland. Also there is Mickey's Philharmagic at Fantasyland :D

Epcot: a few here including Spaceship Earth- the big golf ball that gives you the history of communication

MGM- A few here also, including Voyage of the Little Mermaid that the kids may enjoy.

AK- uhhh...hmmm....It's Tough to be A bug? I guess  You'll quickly see that AK is probably the worst park to find shelter from the heat. But wow I forgot about Finding Nemo the musical...great show and the theater is enclosed :D

Finally, character dining is a must. If you want to meet Winnie the Pooh, you can see him at Crystal Palace, but I also highly recommend 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian which also includes Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland/ Mad Hatter. Want to meet Minnie? An underrated but great character breakfast is Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club which has Minnie as well as Goofy, Chip, and Dale.

Ok I think I've rambled enough....there's just so much info to give but as you can tell by the number of responses, we love Disney "virgins" because it's fun living vicariously through someone who's never experienced Disney before :D

Have a great trip!

I have been to Walt Disney World 7 times, and have still not seen and done everything. Every time I go there are new things to enjoy - the last time I went was September '06. so I have yet to see The Seas, Nemo The Musical or Gran Fiesta. I look forward to the new SSE come November!

I would suggest that you prioritize the nighttime entertainment - the three evening shows are truly incredible and a testament to the magic of Disney, and the talent of the Imagineers. The parades are great too - don't miss them!

Enjoy your trip! :)

I love parades and im excited about seeing the fireworks and that beautiful castle..:animwink:

Thanks for your feed back..
