Ride capacity has increased (added plexiglass screens to ROTR and MRR are just 2 examples and to quenes for other rides)......Park hours have increased...…...BUT, so have wait times have increased?!?!?!?!...….The CDC makes public policy (not private policy) and by Chapeks own words (despite the fact you wont read HIS quote) he said they will not increase capacity unless the CDC changes the guidelines, that's a fact...…...Also fact that Chapek did increase capacity to 35% even though the CDC did not change their guidelines

But that's ok, you just want to deny he is lying when its proven he didnt
Just because the CDC hasn't released anything publicly, does not mean that they haven't been talking with Disney privately. And yes, the CDC talks with all kinds of organizations and companies privately. There has never been one single rule for everyone. Oh, and isn't it also possible that maybe the local governments ok'd the increase? So yes, since the CDC has not publicly stated that Disney could increase it's capacity, he's a lying jerk.

I am NOT defending him. I am merely pointing out hardly anyone outside of the company has no idea who they have been talking to, and exactly when they increased the number of people in the parks. Someone "feels" that it's busier does not mean that it is. You just assume that he is lying without any proof.

So because they slightly increased capacity on 2 of the most popular rides in one park means that they increased capacity of the parks over-all? What if they had many CMs out sick and had to reduce capacity at other attractions? Were they running everything else at full capacity? There are just so many other scenarios that would account for it appearing to be busier, when in fact, there isn't any more people than the previous week.

I have to ask. Why are you so adamant that he is lying, and what affect has it had on you?

Every time Disney released extra reservations was a cause for someone to declare they increased capacity when it was just the juggling of 'buckets,' presumably because WDW want to rightfully give their own resort guests access to the parks, but, when they didn't have enough guests/reservations, they opened up 'bucket' to APs and cast members.

I have read over a dozen reports about how much longer the lines were starting in September, alot of those reports had stats to back it up (see Tom B article amongst others) CDC guidelines are public despite what you say and Chapek himself said they were following them (and they didnt) ...

My point was that i think this PP drop for the holidays is another increase in capacity

got nothing against him and i actually like him......

Doesnt change the facts that hes not telling the truth

Maybe they should sell ticket books that include fewer tickets for higher-tier attractions.

I wonder if anyone internally has proposed doing away with FP lines and converting them to ticket entry? Guests could either wait standby or pony up the cash to purchase ticket books which allow them access to the ticketed line if they have the right ticket. Disney could toss in a complementary ticket book depending on which tier of hotel guests have booked so there's still a perk to on-property guests.

You do understand that as the CEO of a publicly traded company, his words affect investors, and if he is found to be lying, he can go to prison. Do you honestly believe that he would risk that?

Only one park came close to reaching it’s capacity through July and August, Thatbwas DHS.

The fact the parks became busier in September was likely due to the fact more people went to the parks. With only some restaurants open and reduced capacity in them, that would lead to more people in line during the day.

The articles you are mentioning are speculating it was due to increased capacity. There is no evidence that that was the case.

It is just as likely it was due to more people going to the parks. Food and wine is a popular festival, mid September sees the busy DVC season starting. At some point they also allowed people who had cancelled APs during the closure period to renew.

So again, you have no evidence to support your claim that Chapek was lying.

So last century, put them on an app tied to a cc and sell them. You could call it FP+$ or something....

More people cannot go to the parks when PP is sold out............unless they increase capacity............Theres plenty of evidence, and its from very reliable sources like Tom Bricker and Disney wait time data amongst others

he 100% lied......he said they werent increasing capacity unless the CDC changed their guidelines......Well the CDC didnt and he increased to 35%, by his own words.........

Do you disagree with that?

So you don't think it's possible that Disney found ways - as you mentioned they added shields to some of the attractions to increase capacity - so now they can go to a higher percentage while still following the guidelines? Have you taken that into consideration at all?

ETA: and you do understand that they are opening more restaurants, which would also allow an increase without going against the guidelines.

What is PP? Then I can perhaps understand what you mean.

And can you please link where he said they wouldn’t increase capacity until CDC changed their guidelines? And which guidelines?

Yes. But if they increased ride capacity then You’re making my point. Wait times have increased every week since September 1st. Wait times would go down with increased ride capacity but level park capacity and they haven’t, they’ve gone opposite.

Except that you have no idea if the parks actually hit the capacity limit on any particular day.

I think they’ve only increased capacity on two attractions: Rise of the Resistance and Runaway Railway. Rise doesn’t have a traditional wait time listed on the app, but Railway does, and the wait times dropped drastically after increasing capacity. It went from having the longest line in the park by far, to currently having the fourth longest line. So the lines have not increased with increased ride capacity as you said they did.

So you are trying to say that if there is no availability for Park Passes (like today for eg, you cannot go to the park today) then parks aren’t at capacity? You think Disney is not making them available?
