I did misread it but if you think that there is nothing to worry about then you haven’t been paying attention to what’s going on with the movie industry this year.
I know the movie industry isn't doing well lately. But once COVID's gone, it'll get better. I'm just not worrying about it.

Disagree. It's way too big a film to miss out on all that revenue by dropping to home viewing only.
I guess we'll see. I just don't see this movie being a over a billion film anymore. So even if it did 800mil, that would be equal to about 400mil in VoD sales. If only 20% of the D+ subscribers paid $25 it would do more in profit than an 800mil box office. All you are doing now is delaying your other films, in hopes the theaters will return at 100%. And in 6 months I see very little chance of that anyway. We love Black Widow in our house, but at this point, there is very little excitement for this film. It's just a guess of course, but I get that same impression from a lot of people.

If you think there is nothing to worry about I got a bridge to sell you. What this indicates is the Warner (and its parent company AT&T) have seen the numbers coming out of theaters lately and don't believe its coming back anytime soon.

Don't expect a mass return to theaters anytime soon at least in the US. Maybe a year from now, but not likely before then.

Exactly. Theaters will most likely be one of the last things to get back to normal. And even when things are back to normal. Are people going to flock to theaters? I'm not real sure they will.

Pfizer and Moderna's vaccines just got approved for the UK, Europe and the US. So we might see things in those countries go back to normal before the rest of the world. Pfizrer's vaccine could start vaccinations next week.

It'll still be awhile before enough of the vaccine is handed out in those countries to made a dent in the COVID numbers. Don't look for things to get back to somewhat "normal" until late summer/early fall 2021.

According to Twitter News, Canada could get vaccines as early as next week. Now all the main world's countries are getting vaccinated.

And it still going to be way into next year before we all start to get the vaccine. It’s good news for sure but it’s tempered by the reality of the logistics of it all.

Agreed, its going to be July/August before most of the US population gets the vaccine. Making it September/October before things get back to somewhat normal.

AMC Theatres is just about bankrupt. If someone doesn't step in within the next month, they may be finished. They owe $400 million in deferred rent and probably more with current monthly rent due. They reported that without an additional $750 million that they likely will run out of money in January 2021. Their competitors are ready to move in and take over their leases. So this is the time for Disney or even a combination of Studios to step up and save the theaters. Maybe the majors could all step up and offer to buy 10% each of any chain that needs help. The theatrical window is important for movie movies that cost hundreds of millions or we will only get low budget movies.

Now that 1.3 million people got the first dose of the vaccines, would you like to see movie studios start moving their movies back a few months early? A video said the vaccine is gonna start rolling out in the US and Australia now. So they should start opening movie theatres back up in a few weeks.
