UOR looking very rundown

Fallon is way more fun than Na'vi River Journey. I can't imagine a situation that I would ride NRJ again unless it's a walk on and the people I'm with have never ridden it.

What does that possibly have to do with the condition of Universal being discussed? It is really stupid, and I mean this
in reference to both sides of the conversation. Too many times in these boards you hear comments like this. They make
no sense and add nothing to the discussion at hand.

It was an off handed comment responding to the specific statement I quoted. If you read through the thread you'll see that I have also made several comments directly related to the topic.

Thank you. I didn't mean to be confrontational. You just see that type of response a lot here. You know, someone says
"You know, Disney has been having ride issues lately." and the first thing you hear is "Well, have you seen the rides at
Universal or Sea World." It wasn't really you, as much as how many times you hear that type of comment.

I definitely agree with this thread for the most part. Some areas look great, but many areas look completely beat up, neglected, and trashy. I agree that it seems like they do very little power washing, repainting, touchups, repaving, etc. Seuss Landing is disgusting. Hop on One Fish Two Fish and see all the chipped paint and rust and grime and faded colors and tell me this is the appropriate quality for a premium theme park. Or Cat in the Hat where every figure has a clear layer of dust on it and every speaker is blown. Hulk queue is disgusting, Marvel is gross, Toon Lagoon is pretty bad. Hogwarts Express cabins dusty, hot, and smelly. I dunno, there's so much. I hate to say it but I agree that it's starting to feel like the "trashy" reputation the place had in the 00's again, albeit with much better service than back then.

I think most of the pictures in this thread have shown the parks recently being repainted, repaved, or showing the conditions of the park and most of these photos look great or good (especially the one someone posted of Toon Lagoon a little bit ago, which people seem to complain about the most) so I really have no clue what everyone is talking about here.

Please take another look at the photo and read the comments. I am sorry, but from the photo of Toon Lagoon you can see
some very obvious problems. In that photo alone, you can see cracked sidewalks, cracks in the building and façade. as well as,
damage to the building from the water affect there.

Yes it does. At a glance, it looks fine. When you examine the details you see stuff like that. It is emblematic of much of UOR. It's not a case of seeking out things to complain about. Once you're aware of this, you'll see it throughout the resort. It's honestly gotten pretty bad. I'm sorry I don't have photos yet.

Count us in the group that also agrees that Universal upkeep is know where near where it should be for the pricing they charge. Outside of the WWOHP the park needs paint and some power washing. The parking garages are disgusting (with burnt out lights, very creepy at night and overflowing trashcans first thing in the AM) and this is the first impression you get when you visit the resort. I will be returning to Universal in 2 weeks with a friend who has never been so I will be curious to see her impression of how things stack up.

Yet, you are coming back and you are bringing a friend with you! I think it is pretty clear the Parks could use a bit of TLC.
On the other hand, nothing is so bad that it is keeping fans of the park away, and in your case bringing new visitors.

All hyperbole aside, I would say that right now they are teetering right on the edge between doing acceptable upkeep and not delivering the premium product they are charging for. Just a few years ago I would never have said this. I don't want it to get worse, but it does seem to be getting continually worse.

I spent an evening there last month. Besides the usual few show effect issues... condition didn't cross my mind once. So it wasn't bad enough to detract... and that's probably what they count on.
