Shanghai probably wants dibs on it first, so we will have to wait.!?

so if we have to wait on it...then whats going on in the middle? and if we do have to wait...does it mean we have a time frame when its going to be built?

Way off. Wrong continent.
Think of a park they are still negotiating about and may not want what rides it may/may not be getting to leak out.

I can understand them holding back until it is announced for Shanghai, but would it have to wait until Shanghai was open to be built here?

Also, what do you think will open sooner Circusland or the Beauty / Mermaid area?

oy, sometimes I think they dont know what they want to do here. I just hope Glendale has the upper hand over TDO with SW or whatever they end up doing with the rest of the FLE.

As it's been explained to me by someone who works in TDA, it's not that kind of a business relationship. Basically, the various park properties in Anaheim, Paris, Orlando, what have you, are the clients and they go to WDI and tell them they want a certain project with a certain number of hourly riders and a certain capacity for shops and dining within a certain budget. Then it's up to WDI to create an artistic vision that lives up to those operational and financial constraints the client has put them under. The park executives can then either approve the plan, or pass on it and ask for something else.

It's not unlike a man going to an architect-builder and asking him to design a vacation home. The man becomes the client and gets a bid on the project and approves or disapproves of certain elements in the plan, and then pays the architect and his project manager to create it for him. The project might run over budget, and the man may have to approve extra money or cut back on other things he may have wanted, but it's up to the client at the end of the day.

TDO is the client with the checkbook. WDI is the architect and project manager looking for work.

Or at least that's how it was explained to me, in very basic terms. It likely has some extra nuances and politicking and side shows going on in reality.

So if the hangup is that Snow White's Mine Car ride is going in Shanghai, and that park hasn't announced, what are we looking at as a potential delay for the Snow White's Mine Car ride? 2014-2016?

I can understand WDW and DL staggering opening dates because guests are able to go between the two easily. But would many WDW visitors actually travel all the way to Shanghai to ride Snow White's Mine Ride? Or vise versa? I don't think that opening them around the same time or WDW's first would have any affect on the amount of visitors to either resort. They cater to different clientele.

thats exactly what i'm thinking too. =/
I guess it will be similar to when disneyland opened with Holiday Hill.

But im wondering if there putting off consturction on gaston's tavern and the rest of the village until they construct something on project x's site? Do they need to use that area to access the project x and the rest of the FLE construction site?

i would think they would enter between Toontown and Little Mermaid. This whole FLE seems like a mess now. I'm kinda worried what the end result is going to be. Are they going to open BatB and LM with construction all around in the middle? I'm confused and worried.

Yeah it seems like the whole thing is becoming disjointed and disconnected. Do they have a grip on what they are doing? Just seems like nothing is getting confirmation beyond mermaid and beast.

Pixie Hollow never made sense there, but it makes it no sense to axe it completely?!?

Pixie Hollow never made much sense where they planned to put it (surrounded by a circus, in the middle of everything?!?).
But considering all the Tinkerbell movies, the 7 (quite popular) characters and the upcoming live-action Tinkerbell movie, axing the project altogether is plain stupid. But the wooded area BEHIND the Beast's castle and the Little Mermaid attraction would make a lot of sense (not surrounded by 'the world' and all) tucked back in the woods...and would further increase the woeful capacity of the Magic Kingdom (and provide a great play area for the kids, considering they've removed 4 in the reconstruction).
Then they could LEAVE Mickey and Minnie's houses...REMEMBER this expansion as planned would eliminate the (somewhat) ideal autograph haven for Walt Disney World's favorite character, er, Mickey Mouse...the guy who 'owns' the joint....and they wouldn't need to re-theme Goofy's rollercoaster, and maybe could even keep Donald's boat.
With the toon-town tents there already, they could simply keep toon-town and put the new circus area in the area leading up to it (right up to Minnie's house) and, if need be, move Minnie's house back behind Mickey's house?

Why not? The plans are for something to be there, so it is not like a whole lot of walkway space will have to be eaten up by the construction site.

I know. Its going to feel weird. You'll have a big circle of construction walls. I just hope the construction on the Snow White ride picks up so that way it'll open the same time as everything else.

There's a Cast Member road behind the LM and BatB areas which is between it and the wooded area behind Magic Kingdom.

How will workmen access the space with guests surrounding them on all sides ?

Workers would be the least of the problem, how would you get construciton equipment, cement trucks, materials, etc into the area. I am wondering if this is why the Belle's village section has not been started yet. If you were going to leave a construction entrance into the middle area this would be the most logical place since it would divide the expansion up into a BatB area and an LM area. Not ideal long term, but would probably be managable in the short term.

it will probably start to get built once toontown is demolished then they'll have a HUGE entrance to get in from. lol.

Workers could still be able to access the new Show White area through the Toontown construction site. They would just need to make the path by the Little Mermaid dead-end until construction was complete.
