I guess I am the only one that doesn't want the dragon on top of gringotts? I want the land to be undisturbed so it could be a snapshot of any of the books. Oh, well. I'll still freaking love it.

Count me in that crowd ... I saw the first three movies and then got bored in the middle of the fourth and gave up on the films, I also never read the books but I do LOVE the John Williams score ... anyway ... that all being said I spend COUNTLESS hours in that land when I am there. I eat it all up ... such an amazing place to hang out, visit, and enjoy attractions.

That's right. If you want your movie to succeed, it's not necessarily about the script, the director, the actors or the effects.

Just get John Williams to score it.

Can't get John Williams? Get James Horner!

Either one of them could turn even the world box office flop into winners! <grin>

You're not the only one, I don't want it on top of Gringotts. If there was a dragon in Diagon Alley in the HP Universe, everyone would be scared to death.

Theiry Coup confirmed the Dragon. And also said that Gingott's will be a "family friendly" attraction. I would imagine that the height requirement will be 42" or even lower.

Where is this dragon confirmation? I read the interview saying that Gringotts will be a family attraction, but I don't recall anything confirming the dragon sitting on top of Gringotts.

I highly doubt J.K. would approve of a dragon in the middle of Diagon Alley. Perfect execution of an outdoor dragon AA would no doubt be impressive, but it doesn't work for me and I'm assuming it wouldn't work for JK.

I thought that dragon announcement was a joke. It would certainly be impressive, but it would look out of place. We'll see.

I'm iffy on the dragon. I like the idea, but then I don't. I doubt it would mess with the land too much, and it would definitely add excitement. But it would also intrude on Diagon Alley as a whole, and I would rather see it in the ride (which will probably also happen).

Why do you doubt JK would approve it? It's consistent with the movie.
It's consistent with the movie when three characters are riding it and escaping and (most likely) causing terror for the customers in Diagon Alley. In the normal time of the HP universe (when Voldemort does not have complete control), the general public is terrified of dragons and would not even consider entering Diagon Alley if there was a dragon hanging out on top of Gringotts.

In the Harry Potter universe Muggles wouldn't be hanging out in Hogwarts either.

Good point. But if I remember correctly (haven't been to WWoHP in over a year), they had some somewhat lame excuse as to why muggles were allowed in to Hogwarts that was buyable. I just don't think a dragon chillin on the top of Gringotts is buyable.

However, I could see why they would do it. It would provide a main focal point for the land, which it lacks without the dragon. Also, non-HP fanatics would normally not be impressed with a bank but if there is a fire-breathing dragon on top, you can bet that they'd be impressed.

"today is a special exception, guests will be told as they enter, so regular folks can learn about the history of the wizarding school."

Some muggles are allowed to visit. Like the Grangers. The dragon needs to be axed. I don't like the vide it will create for the area at all. I want to visit Diagon ally in the books. The relaxing environment.
