Another thought...

  1. The Great Movie Ride (difficult access while they remove the hat)
  2. Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
  3. Toy Story Midway Mania
  4. The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow
  5. Walt Disney: One Man's Dream
  6. Voyage of the Little Mermaid (also rumoured to be replaced)
  7. The Magic of Disney Animation
  8. Disney Junior - Live on Stage!
  9. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
  10. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  11. Fantasmic! (is it on every night?)

...Fastpass+ is going to be fun at DHS in 2015... ;)

I just threw up in my mouth a little...

I like Phineas and Ferb. It's one of the few redeeming things about the crap that is the Disney Channel. But in no way do I want Imagination to have a Dr. Doof overlay. In my view, that would be extremely short sighted thinking. My hope is that they go back to something closer to the original ride (and add back the track length).

Agree, and to the prior poster no this does not make the rumor true on a PF overlay. Though why is my worry increasing lol.

Last year? Longer than that. 2010-11 that I know of. Things happened and it was cancelled.

The Seas refurb.... painful. They literally had to scrape the budget together to get anything near usable.

Wow time goes fast, for some reason I was thinking that was last year, this is 2013 afterall lol my bad. :D

Lutz also said that Disneyworld would be getting lesser versions of Toy Story Mania, Mermaid, and Star Tours. When in fact, Disneyworld has the better version of all those attractions, thanks to much more immersive queues, and in Star Tours case, much higher capacity.

Al Lutz kinda slammed WDW fans by saying that WDW doesn't get the good attractions, the fans out east only get what they deserve. As I remember, he got some very negative comments on Miceage after that. He is implying that it is the westcoast annual passholders, like him, and his friends, who were 'rewarded' with Carsland and other recent additions because they have complained for years about standards at DLR, some picked up by major newspapers.

Well, I think a fuller picture is that DCA was bringing down the resort financially, and was being ridiculed by more people than just Miceage et al. No way that DCA 1.0 could hold a candle to today's DHS. So, Disney built Carsland on an expansion pad, and did a cosmetic refurb of Sunshine Plaza which turned it into BVS, and added one low capacity ride. Paradise Pier is still there, albeit with a fresh coat of paint, though some of the carny attractions are gone, it is still a 45 minute wait for a turn in the ferris wheel.

Supposedly, Disney learned a lesson with Carsland, and that was that you build heavily themed lands, instead of just dropping down an attraction that doesn't fit in its land. I can't see how on earth 1/2 or even 3/4 of Carsland would be placemaking, if there is no Cadillac Mountain range, then it ain't Radiator Springs. Gotta build all the character's shops/establishments too. This isn't like a Star Wars addition were nobody has a good idea what it will look like, this is a recreation from a specific film, Cars, and Carsland has to be true to that.

DHS is a hard nut to crack, the Hollywood theme is everywhere, but I kinda think Disney learned their lesson, and they're not going to try little stand-alone projects.

Look at Avatarland, that is placemaking. NFL also attempted to produce a unified land theme, (though there are sub-lands and I don't think this worked very successfuly from a thematic standpoint.)

You are incorrect. DCA pre-expansion had more attractions and enjoyable theming than DHS circa 2013, which is a pretty sad shadow its former self.

I still don't think so.

The attendance of DCA 1.0 (opening day) was pretty low, plus DCA 1.0 didn't have Star Tours, the Great Movie Ride, Fantasmic, Hollywood Tower of Terror, Osbourne Lights for holiday appeal, Toy Story Mania . . . there wasn't much there that was enjoyable. A lot of folks really didn't even like anything in Paradise Pier, I was one of them.

DCA is still kinda a mess, outside of Carsland and BVS . . . DCA got a crummy version of the tower of terror, and the Monsters Inc. ride is kinda boring, probably because it uses the same ride system from Superstar Limo.

What's with all the Phineas and Ferb hate? Have half of you even ever seen the show? I'm 26 and I think it's one of the funniest, most imaginative, and cleverly written television shows I've seen in a long time. It's certainly Disney Channel's only redeeming value at this point. While I might not necessarily agree with putting the show into the Imagination pavilion, I can certainly see how they would be a great fit.

Just saying, but Disney has not ordered any new episodes of Phineas and Ferb.

The show is still in the middle of its fourth season, with a feature film slated to hit theatres next year. I really doubt they're going anywhere anytime soon...

Disney Channel rarely let's shows go beyond 65 episodes, and beyond 100 episodes is even rarer. They don't care if a show remains popular because they assume kids are stupid and will happily just watch reruns.

Not true.

In the past, yes. There used to be a 65 episode rule with Disney Channel shows. Not anymore.

Hannah Montana - 98 episodes
Wizards of Waverly Place- 106 episodes
Suite Life franchise - 158 episodes total
Good Luck Charlie (Still airing) - 84 Episodes
Phineas and Ferb (Still airing) - 109 episodes (Technically 192, if you count each vignette separately)

Permanent theme park properties based on television shows have not held up well. A lot of that has to do with the life cycle of TV shows in general.

If they are going to spend money on a refurb, I want it spent on something that isn't stale in three years because the show is starting to wane in popularity.

In total agreement. Though, to be fair, Wizards of Waverly Place was pretty damn funny. The later seasons of Hannah had their moments as well.

I hated both of those shows. Cringe-worthy writing and terrible acting.

The end of the Disney Channel began with the premiere of That's So Raven. After that, things started going downhill, fast. No more cartoons, no more Vault Disney (I was ed when all the classics from Walt's era stopped being aired), no more decent DCOMS (the last good one was probably the Even Stevens Movie), no more Mickey Mouse and certainly no more good shows. The shows nowadays treat kids like they're stupid. Anyone remember when Miranda had an eating disorder on Lizzie McGuire? Or the episode of Even Stevens where Louis and Tawny had problems telling each other how they really felt? I was watching The Color of Friendship the other night and the "N" word popped up a few times. Disney wouldn't dare to have content like that ariring, now. No, we have to watch shows with laugh tracks and stupid plots (Dog with a Blog.... SERIOUSLY?!).

The only good thing about the Disney Channel right now is Phineas and Ferb. But I miss Recess, Pepper Ann, Doug (originally a Nick show, which has also gone downhill), Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales and countless others.

As you can see, I'm VERY disappointed with the current Disney Channel. Sorry for going on and on.

Pretty much agree with everything. I miss the days of being able to watch Zorro and other amazing classics on the late night lineup (always watched them when we were traveling, since my home cable tier didn't carry the Disney Channel, and I wasn't normally allowed to be up that late). Good Luck Charlie is great, until they start pushing Bridget Mendler to be try and be their next big "pop star."

If DHS had occupied the plot opposite Disneyland, I suspect it would have had worse attendance than DCA 1.0.

My bet is that DHS only had a better attendance over the last few years because of a captive audience (guests staying multiple days at or near WDW and buying 4+ day passes).

I should clarify that I'm talking about opening day DCA, before Toy Story Midway Mania, before Tower of Terror . . .I'd take the Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, and the theming of DHS over DCA opening any day of the week. The only thing I liked with opening day DCA was Soarin . . . GRR is boring.

DHS has had attendance dips before, they've solved it by adding attractions, and its been around a lot longer than DCA. It's not like somebody at Disney forgot to check the books and found out recently that DHS is losing money . . .

The only good show on DC is Gravity Falls. Exteremely well done show. Phineas and Ferb have overstayed their welcome and are running out of ideas.

Woah woah woah.

Disney Channel actually did this. So let's dial back the hate for about 17 minutes while you watch all of the ones that are out so far. Now you've each doubled your list of good Disney Channel shows.
