I liked the new DVD better then the others. The new one seemed more contemporary, it also wasn't as corny as the other ones. The musice was better, the video was better, I also enjoyed how they had different people for different demographics. Although I do agree that luke did over play his character's persona

WHAT?!?!?!?

I thought the new one went WAY over the corny meter. Actually that's what I hated most about it. "You're in the picture"....."You're in the picture" I about turned the thing off at that point

Oh well, this DVD seems to be somewhat popular among WDW fans, so maybe they are going in a good direction there. It just doesn't do a thing for me and I'm not quite sure how potential WDW guests would take it either.

There was some justice--Luke got pretty wet on Kali River Rapids. I only wish Everest was open so there might be some chance that the Yeti would eat him...

Don't get me wrong I think it is corny, but the last one I saw had this guy on it that keep trying to be funny, but wasn't funny. I think it is about 3 years old, I can't remember.

I think the main reason I like this one more is not so much the acting or the characters, it is because of the music they used, and the video. It seemed to have a lot more energy to it. I don't think Disney will ever put a promo video together with out corny characters, it is one of those things I have to accept.

Luke aggrivated the heck outta us. Is he a stoner, or just trying to hard to seem like a stoner? And what's with the 100 mph arm gestures? I'm Italian heritage and I don't even talk with my arms/ hands that much.

"Look! I'm a Cali-surfer-stoner right on, totally!" :hammer:

Did he take voice lessons from bill and ted, crush the turtle, or what?

Okay, I just got done watching it, and I have to say, I miss the old planning videos. The hosts were horribly annoying. Luke was such a stereo type teenage thrill junkie, the guy who relaxes alot was also annoying, the main host went over the top a few times, and the only host who I actually liked was that African American lady. They seriously aggrivated the heck out of me. :brick: The music was not "Disney" sounding, and it seemed like they were once again trying to get all "hip and edgy." They took nothing seriously. And they also were over hyping Stitch!!!! Gaaahhhh!!!!!!!! :brick: :fork: The WDW trivia guy was also annoying. It just made me wanna rip every hair strand out of my skull.

Guys, I'm really dissapointed with this planning DVD. It really makes me start to lose hope in the Walt Disney Company.

Relax and breathe. Not everyone in this thread feels the same way. If a lot of us here (including myself) really enjoyed the DVD, imagine regular guests who aren't as fanatical. They are going to flip, because this DVD (corny as it may seem) has a lot more in them than past DVD's. They talk more in depth about the parks, have all these special features, and you know what? It's FREE. Sure it's a planning video and "should" be free, but if no money is being spent by the consumer, why go through all this trouble of making it so thorough?

Just my 2 cents

Well at least they admitted that Stitch was taking over the Magic Kingdom...
As for "Extremely easy Disney Trivia Man" man, I agree on how annoying he was. The real bad thing about the trivia though is that there is no actual point system and the use of fictional numbers like a million bazillion. It's a good idea to have a Disney video trivia game but not with someone as hella annoying as him and actually making the game challenging.

I got the DVD this week and thought is was alright. I liked the trivia at the end. But what has really bugged me about it is the host ERIN. SHE SAID THE WORD "AMAZING" LIKE 20 TIMES throughout the entire DVD. :hammer:

We were in Epcot when Luke was taping there. I tried to walk behind him and get in the scene, but I looked today, and I'm not there. It was fun watching all the behind the scenes stuff. Holding an umbrella over him and using one of those little fans on him. I was cracking up! He also was very quiet and subdued between takes. I couldn't believe how action packed he seemed on the DVD. This was back in early October by the way.

i fall into the category of those who liked the DVD. i liked the updated version of it and i wasn't as annoyed with the hosts (Luke did get to me after watching it a couple of times). as someone else mentioned, it was similar to the old resort TV. i like how you got to see a little more of the attractions, and the hosts experiencing them as well.

Dave (the bench guy) was funny every now and then. Erin didn't really bother me (i find Karissa more annoying). and i realized it's meant to be a little cheesy/corny. do wish there was a little more on the resorts, but what can you do?

also, i don't think they over hyped Stitch...and i do like the fact that they say "he's not the loveable Stitch on Earth, he's the spitting, rude, etc..." they had to mention the attraction because its new. granted, PhilHarmagic never got that much hype... :zipit:

all in all....i really enjoyed the DVD :D

I liked this years DVD it was muchmore gooder then past videos/DVD's but once again they really lacked meat and potatoes. I don't understand why they don't have more in depth info about the resorts, or even the parks at that. THey should have like the main video then have seperate specific videos for each park and then for each resort. DVD's are huge they and the stuff on this one can't be taking up all that much space.

I just finished watching the DVD, and I figure I should chime in with some thoughts. My first impression of Luke was that he would get really annoying throughout the video... and I was right. I can't stand him :hurl: They should have me do the planning DVD next year! :lookaroun

Other than that, this year's DVD was a nice change from the same old video every year. I really liked it.
