Two days at the world without tickets... what to do?

My husband and I will be at Disney from Sept 6-10. We have season tickets that will be good through the end of the day on Sept 8 (this is why we actually planned this quick trip- we wanted to get a little more use out of them).
This will be our shortest trip we have been on....hitting all four parks in 2 1/2 days!
Our last two days (Sept 9 and 10) will be free days for us!. We have never had that kind of time at Disney without being able to go into a park and are not quite sure what all we should try to take advantage of and see.
We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas, so we were planning on taking in the sites around the resort and then maybe hitting up Downtown Disney for a few hours.
Also planning on visiting some of the other resorts.
Does anyone have any good ideas for us?... I know i will be standing at the Polynesian gazing over at the Magic Kingdom, pouting that we cant go in :)
Any tips or ideas would be great... thanks everyone!

I'd be sure to make reservations for dinner somewhere in the Magic Kingdom resort area so you could catch Wishes after dinner. Watching from the beach at the Poly after dinner at Kona Cafe is a favorite and you could easily stay and see the Electric Water Parade pass by too.

Though it would require another ticket, I'd strongly suggest going to Typhoon Lagoon.

An evening at the Boardwalk could be a lot of fun. I like Jellyrolls a lot but even just wandering the Epcot resort area is really nice at night.

Since you have limited park time, I'd save most of my shopping for a trip to Downtown Disney. You might also want to venture out to the outlet mall to check out Character Warehouse.

A slightly different version of resort hopping is to resort hop by boat. The boat from Downtown Disney to Port Orleans takes you through waterways you won't see any other way and I think those resorts are worth visiting anyway. The boat through the Epcot resort area is also nice.

These are great ideas so far.... I don't know why I didn't think about watching Wishes from the Polynesian!
Saving the shopping is also a great idea to save time in the parks.
We are not big on the whole swimming scene (in fact - my husband has never stuck a foot in any Disney pool EVER come to think of it!)
But a little hot tub time might be nice... does anyone know how the hot tub is at Kidani Village?

Thanks for the responses -keep em comin'!

Something I just thought of is the Halloween party. I've used both the Halloween or Christmas party as a lower cost way of filling in a day of a short stay.

The first night is September 10th. Since you'd be able to enter the park at 4pm you'd be able to cover a lot of Magic Kingdom ground, freeing up time on the 6th and 7th for other parks.

Go to Universal for a day.

We thought also about doing this... i have only been to Universal once when i was 10 or 11.
I remember a few things about it... Jaws, the Nickelodeon set, E.T ride, and the set of Casper. Haha

I was looking online and saw that there are two seperate parks there now?... I would like to see Harry Potter World, but thought we might try Universal when the second phase of that opens.

Does anyone know how you go about getting to the miniature golf course on property if you don't have your own vehicle?

Winter Summerland shares a bus with Blizzard Beach. Fantasia Gardens is supposed to be walking distance from the Swan, but I've never been to either golf course...

Discovery Cove at Sea World. Though very expensive, it is all inclusive and you kill a whole day swimming with dolphins, in the coral reef with sea rays and other tropical fish or just relaxing in what is the best lazy river I ever experienced through the aviary. They serve breakfast and lunch, and it also includes beer, and some mixed drinks.
