TTA and other Space Mountain rehab issues

Will the TTA be going down when the Space Mountain rehab happens? This would be very upsetting to me and my family. We all love riding that. I read that it would be, but I don't see why. If all they are doing is replacing the track at SM, why should that affect the TTA?

I think closing down SM without another E-ticket attraction at the Magic Kingdom is a HUGE mistake. It wasn't as bad for Disneyland, as they have Splash, Thunder, Matterhorn, and Indiana Jones. But with MK, all they have for back up is Splash and Thunder. This is going to create tremendous traffic and frustration in Frontierland, an area that as it is, is already far too crowded.

Demolition of several ton pieces of steel right above the TTA while people ride it doesn't sound like a very good idea to me.

Why would it be demolished? Can't it just be taken apart?

As in demolish, I mean cut with an acetylene torch. The crane taking the piece down will boom directly over the TTA path. If there were to be a problem with either the crane itself or the piece suspended by the crane, it would be very unsafe to be underneath it.
Besides, its just much easier to operate a construction site without having unnecessary personnel in the area. Much work needs to be done in the lift hill area.

The end WILL justify the means.
TTA WILL be closed during the rehab as it NEEDS to be.
S.M. will be incredible when the rehab is finished.
As for all the issues you spoke of? Non issues imho.
You have to remember, refurbs have and WILL take place. ALOT of them have been happening lately.:)
Everything will go just fine. We can all live without Space M. for 18months or so.

Sounds like an E-Ticket to me...:D

With the rate cranes have been "collapsing" around the country now a days, sounds like a whole new level of attraction to me... I'd say "F" ticket but that's too much like a failing grade in school. Maybe an "EE" ticket (for everyone evacuate as things start falling around you).

I just hope they keep the narration. Its my favourite part. :(

But I think they need to tinker around with the vehices and maybe replace some of the track because its pretty bumpy.

I agree and it seems to me WDW never gets refurbs done right because of these type of complaints.

I completely agree. As much as I want this to be done I believe it will make things tough in the MK. Something of substance should have been done on the 20K site a long time ago, that way this wouldnt be an issue. Well I hope if they do it, they start early 09 and takes about 18 months like has been rumored. That way I dont have to deal with it since Im most likely not going next year.

Completely true and accurate statement. It is also safer, more efficient, costs less money, and reduces liabilty. When unnecessary people are on site I cannot stand it, certain procedures have to be stopped or re-scheduled and it monopolizes my time as I am constantly worried they will do something dangerous.

In the case of SM and the TTA you would be putting people in a possibly dangerous situation for no reason whatsover. That being said if no overhead work was in progress there wouldn't be a danger to the riders oin the TTA - even at that if it was my site I would want the ride closed.
