Truly Haunted Haunted Mansion Photo

Where is the handicap loading on HM? Is it the same area as regular or is it before the loading area? Is it possible that this individual was already in a doombuggie before you loaded? Could it be possible that someone stayed on through the unload area?

Okay... now let's move away from the religious discussion.

Thanks.

Just stating the facts. But I agree, this isn't a discussion about religion and we should not make it one.

You people are crazy. There are no such things as ghosts, and there definitely aren't any real ghosts in HM. I am a Christian and I believe you either go to Heaven or Hell, you don't just hang around here. You "ghost hunters" need to get a life and do something better with your time.
Don't inflict your beliefs on others. What you are and what you believe is personal just as what we all believe and what we are is personal.

As to crazy, not nice to pass judgements on others, CHRISTIAN.

As in my earlier post I stated my sister was a CM and HM and worked late shifts. I talked to her and she said she never heard or saw anything from a ghost boy. This doen't mean it was a ghost or not. Just another tidbit of information to our disscussion.

Thanks, Zac, for posting such a unique photo!

I have used IR on my Sony digital camcorder (8mm), and have had some basic training in the use of IR in 35mm photography. Just like Zac said, and if you look at the other photos he posted, IR lights on digtital cameras pretty much work more as a spot than a flood. Something else to consider, is that a great deal of HM is designed NOT to reflect light, thus flat black and non-smooth surfaces are used a lot to lower light reflection. All of the additional shots that Zac posted show a "spot" effect of the IR lighting in the frame. For instance, the CM walking next to the buggies shows well in the IR, but the buggy that is closest to him is visible, but the next buggy drops off considerably, due to the "spot" effect of the IR light, and it is designed not to reflect light. The second buggy is actually closer to the camera than the CM, but is barely visible.

Having said that, I don't believe the photo is faked (not because I used PS, but because Zak said so), and there is something in the center of the frame that caught a lot of the IR light, and that something looks like a face. So let's have some fun speculation with it, and not beat it into the ground.

And just for those who like technical stuff, true IR light used with IR 35mm film will look like black and white.

1. I have a life. I go to college and work, ghost hunt and raise animals on the side. I am doing good with my time, making a life for myself
2. Ghosts are real. I have see them, have them on video and in photographs.
everybody is entitled to their opinion. Believe what you want to believe but I believe in ghosts because I've seen them. You don't have to get so hostile

Alright, some of you probably knew I was going to post soon, but here it goes. As a cast member who works at the Haunted Mansion, I can tell you what this is. Now, I began working at the Mansion back in August. I remember working pretty late nights for the first few weeks. At unload, I would often hear a child giggling and singing. A while later, I heard them imitating little leota and giggling some more. I assumed it was children getting off the ride, but when nobody got off, I got a little creeped out. I started hearing this for a couple nights in a row and decided to ask a fellow cast member about it. They told me that it was a ghost of a child named by Mansion CMs "Little Boy Wonder". I continually heard this child late at night and grew a little used to it. However, about a month later, I was working at unload again and the ride suddenly turned off. I turned around and a mist was standing on the mat after little leota. I looked up and it had a very distinct fact exactly like the child pictured here. I didn't know what to say. It didn't look at me. It seemed to be peering down the hall called our jog area, the place where all the buggies go from unload to load. A couple weeks later, I was doing a ride through to check for trash and I knew for a fact that there was noone for a long way ahead of me. As we rounded the seance circle, I saw him again sitting in a buggy. Since then, I have still heard him singing at unload and have grown very used to him. My friend has a habit of talking to him if he gets really bored late at night. Anyway, I just wanted to verify that there is really a ghost of a child that resides at the Haunted Mansion and MSU was lucky enough to catch him on film. I do not know of anyone else that has ever taken a picture of our beloved Little Boy Wonder. We also have another spirit that stands back in our jog area and calls out our names the entire day. It sounds like a female, but the ghost has yet to be spotted with the eye.

I think you made this up just now. I've never heard of this and I don't know of anyone who has ever heard of this before. And I've known plenty of HM CMs. I think I would have heard this story at LEAST once before.

Also, if any of you think Zac is faking this, believe me he is good enough with photoshop to make a more believable photo than this.

Of the few years I've been a member of these boards; I can attest that Zac has ALWAYS conducted himself with the upmost integrity. That alone leaves no doubt in my mind that this picture he took IS something.
Actually, when I first looked at it; I almost dropped my coffee. It freaked me out.

Just want to say.... wow Zac, what a pic!
ghost or no ghost, it's freaky alright!

anyway, for all the folks that so firmly believe that this is nothing more than someone who happened to look backwards out of their doombuggy...

-I have a test for ya-

recreate the photo.
simply have one of your friends ride several cars ahead of you, and once you reach this specific part of the attraction, have them look backwards at you the way the "person" in the photo is, and take a picture.

if the photos turn out very similar, then it was most likely nothing more than a curious guest looking backwards. If the photos don't turn out even remotely similar.... then maybe we have a ghost on our hands! :lookaroun

so Zac, this might be a fun one for you to try out if you ever happen to get really bored one day.. considering it would be under similar conditions.. (same photographer, camera, etc.)

One of the main problems with low light and IR photography is chromatic aberration. When a camera lens is "wide open" it does not focus each color in the same place. For example blue light has a very short wavelength while red light has a very long wavelength. Consumer optical lenses perform well in the visible spectrum, however, they always distort outside that range (i.e. UV/IR) because they are not designed for accurate IR correction.

Military and professional equipment have doublet or triplet lens designs to correct for this type of distortion. These lens systems are far too expensive for most consumers.

I don't think anyone would be able to stay on. Remember that a CM walks by your doom buggy when you unload

Yes they make you get off, especially when it's as busy as it appears to have been that day. However, disabled guests board through unload and ride through the load area. We've had to do this many times when traveling with my brother.

That being said, I don't necessarily think that this is what happened. I still don't think it really looks like a real person, for one. Plus, I'd like to think that being held back while a car full of people rides by you would be something that you'd notice.

Religious belief is like a butt-hole - everybody has one, but it's not appreciated when you shove yours in someone else's face.

LMAO!!! Yeah anyways, people once didn't believe the earth was round, in gravity, evolution, the solar system layout, global warming and oxygen. So how can you be so certain that there isn't something else out there? Dude you need to watch the matrix!
