According to my WeatherBug, a hurricane statement has just been issued for people in Collier, Hendry, Glades, Mainland Monroe, Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.

While at school today (yeah, they made us go  ) they informed us that a tornado warning had been issued for Palm Beach County, and later on they made us go through a tornado drill. For most of the day the sun had been shining and everything was fine until about 1-2pm....then the skies became grey and the winds came in. It's been that way since then....storms are not expected until later today.

I hope my home in Kissimmee doesn't recieve damage. :(

And please stay safe everyone!
That's weird, because I'm in the Kendall area, sort of close to Homestead, and we've only had wind today. The sky is kinda gloomy but it's mostly the wind causing trouble. Oh well.

All I can say is GOOD THING we didn't go down on Thursday!!!! If I was in WDW right now, I'd be pretty nervous/scared! I hope they are able to open everything back up on Monday to normal, but with the way it looks I won't get my hopes up.

OH NO! Just heard my local weather here in Boston, Mass. The weatherman is saying that Charley could still be a hurricane when it hits here on Sunday. Charley is expected to go out into the Atlantic south of the Carolinas and then strengthen and travel north toward us. I really don't care about this storm. Just as long as the forecast is excellent for 9/18 - 9/25.

President Bush has just declared the areas that have already been hit by Charley to be disaster areas so that they are eligible for federal funds.

It's been raining pretty consistently for the past few hours. Some winds earlier were making big waves in the big pond near us. First time I've ever seen that.

Just saw this on CNN.com

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported the Charlotte County Emergency Operations Center lost part of its roof to intense winds. Local television stations showed footage of flooded docks and battered buildings missing roofs and shutters. And the Cape Coral Hospital in Fort Myers lost much of its roof, Mayor Jim Humphrey told CNN.

You guys should see the weather here on the Ms Gulf Coast because it is so creepy. The sun is shining and the Gulf of Mexico looks like glass it is so calm. It is weird to think that is the same water churning up all that bad weather in Florida.
