Tropical Storm Hilary - Possible Disneyland Impacts?

I’m in South Los Angeles, not too far from Downtown.

Yes, I agree. My streets flood as well, but that’s business as usual. The way they’ve been talking about it, you would think God was bringing a second flood upon us. Lines at grocery stores have been long with people buying a bunch of stuff as if the rapture was coming. Ridiculous.

I suspect no one really knows how bad the flooding/damage will be, so all predictions should be taken with a grain of salt. I’m prepared for anything, but some Angelenos (my boss is predicting a week without power!) are borderline hysterical.

Storm still hasn’t arrived. What a boring day.

A week without power where?? Maybe in San Diego lol. Maybe in others parts of the County, like near Santa Clarita/Palmdale/Lancaster, but not over here.

Someone else said the same thing. “Most boring hurricane ever.” We should just stick to earthquakes.

Well, I'm up in NorCal, and all Hilary has done to us is make it humid. blgh...

Although, some weird thunderstorms blew through here suddenly last night around 10pm. The wind was really high and threw one of our patio umbrellas over the house. Literally. We heard a bunch of noise on the patio and went to look at what was going on and couldn't find the umbrella. After some wandering around with flashlights, we found it in a tree in the front yard. 🤣 🤣 That wind lasted about an hour or two and was gone. It was odd.

ETA: Also, no earthquake for us. We don't get earthquakes where I am. CA is a big state, ya know. ;)

Bruh, the core was already above SoCal as of two hours ago.

I mean, I don't blame them being hysterical. It's been almost a hundred years since a tropical system hit SoCal so logically you would panic since preparation is more difficult.

Had first roof leak with the first rains this morning. But the rains just intensified over the past half hour or so and are now hitting hardest of the day. Second roof leak started simultaneously with the new downpour. :( Got out more buckets.

Power starting flickering as the winds started kicking up, too.

Really hoping this passes soon.

When was the last time Dodger Stadium looked like this.

Palm Springs seems to be getting the worst of the storm and flooding. Wouldn't be surprised if most casualties from Hilary (which there sadly will be) are in that area.
