Saw the video. I think it looks pretty good. I do hope it's temporary but I'm not going to get upset if it sticks around until the end of the year.

AS suspected, the nose cone/cabs are PAINTED not the stickers.... everything else appears to be sticker overlays.

Could that further indicate that maybe this operation will repeat itself for future movie releases, or am I reading too much into that?! :lookaroun

After all stickers have got to be more cost effective than paint.

no.... it means that the contours and the angles of the cab area proved difficult to overlay, so they painted them...

The trains are repainted all the time.. this would just be a different color in the sprayer :).....

Also, the paint on the 'leading edge' of the monorail is more durable... insect strike cleaning and wash down won't damage it as easily and the stickers.

Yes an no. If all you were doing is a straight color (like the nose) paint is easier and less expensive. They are however considerably more cost effective when graphics are involved. They can also be replaced relatively easily if damaged and can be duplicated for additional vehicles almost as easy as printing a photo from your computer.

Totally tasteless. I know its only a quick look so far. But IMHO this is just ugly and tacky. Ugh, have a trip planned for november for food and wine. Now I have to see this ugly thing everyday. Yuck. :hurl::hurl::hurl:

some of you are really taking this to an unnecessary extreme.

Not really. I'm not saying that they will do something that extreme. But overlaying entire monorail trains for a movie is pretty far out there, in my opinion. Others may not feel that way. If your mind's eye sees a really extreme direction it will naturally progress in that direction. How hard would it be to slap a big ol' vinyl over the windows on the ends of the Contemporary's A-frame? Not so much more extreme than overlaying an entire monorail train for the sake of advertising 9 months before the product being advertised will be available. It's just a thought process...a venture into imagining where or if marketing draws lines. That's all.

Not really a Tron fan but that looks pretty freakin awesome!

I didn't see any indicators for identifying Coral as the actual train though. So for now, everyone must memorize that Blue is actually Coral on concourse.

There is a dent in Walt Disney's Tomb. Instead of rolling over in his grave, he hit the inside because he was so ed at what they did to the monorails!
