I always thought this but now that it's laid bare...oof.

I always presumed the final plan would actually have this path be the exit, and that is the reason the building remained, as it will serve as Tron's Giftshop as well as Space Mountain's exit shop. That is an odd way to enter the area if it is the only one.

Even so, they don't really care. They will just virtually queue it and control the flow for a while until it is not that big of deal anymore. Disney is not in the caring business of such things anymore.

The poor logistics of the entry path and the long skinny tunnel for the train are just more evidence of how this project was just dropped down somewhere it could physically fit. It wasn’t carefully designed to fit here.

Par for the course in a lot of areas of recent sadly. There is nothing asthetically nice about that path for a main entrance either. It was designed to be an alley of sorts you discover or shortcut, never to be a path leading to something of a main attraction.(preaching to the entire choir I know) This is why I thought it was an exit path, which from a financial standpoint could have brought in more foot traffic to the TL Light and Power shop building. It should have been the exit path.

Yes. I stated this a few pages back. It will take months of cycling and the handing off to operations after that for it to be ready for ridership. In the video after several months, it only begins allowing ride team. But likely not by the end of this year outside of that as Disney will control the grand opening to beneficial after the 50th fuss.

Yep. Humans on board by fall.
Had to rewind to make sure I heard correctly "Several months later" they'll be clear for ridership?
It could open by Christmas if they want it to. I don’t know when they want to open it, though. I doubt they’ve decided. GotG is the current focus.

The original concept art showed that the slope leading up from the speedway to the walkway next to the Power building was being removed and a vertical retaining wall being built in its place which would have widen the pathway by about 10'. For some reason they didn't build it. When the speedway was down for having the track shortened several years ago, that would have been the time to do it.

Removed to save money? Issue's with guests dropping things over the side onto the racers?

So this sounds like they have finished installing the show sets and are ready to do clearance checks.

This isn't the first time. There were pictures of a clearance check car on the outdoor track previously checking clearances of the ride envelope with the building and infrastructure.

Yes. The ride is almost done. It‘s simply a question of when they want it open. If GotG is delayed from May, this will certainly delay into 2023.

They put this in a place where you'll never be able to see it from the best view possible with the arcade building still there. I've always thought that.
