Tron Coaster coming to Magic Kingdom... eventually. It takes Disney Parks in America 5 times longer to make something already in Chinese parks. I guess it could be because the workers families in China are being held at gunpoint.
I won't disagree with your statement, but I think there is more to it. When the Chinese government wants something built quickly the material resources, permits, construction crews and testing staff are immediately allocated. In the USA, we have separate government agencies which come as they please to check on progress and issue permits/signoffs. Also today Disney may have different delays today compared with pre-covid involving health protocols, procuring specialty parts or waiting for delivery (which wouldn't necessarily be issues in china even today).

Compare how long it takes american civilian builders to construct a bridge versus the US army corps of engineers. When you have complete control over a project, virtually unlimited manpower and resources, things get done very quickly. It may be as ugly as the chinese big ski jump in an industrial area, but it gets built!

Permits????

I am surprised Birdsnest is still standing. I was there right after the summer Olympics and the concrete columns already had cracks and rebar showing.

Chinese quality control is fascia only

Shanghai Disney Resort was not exactly a quick build, with a lot of stuff having to be rebuilt which is why the park opening was delayed and cost an extra $800 million.

The building and fire authority at Walt Disney World is the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Disney’s problems are entirely their own.

Are you seriously trying to excuse the glacial pace of building at WDW? Tron was announced almost 5 YEARS AGO and still is nowhere close to opening. Disney's building problems are of their own making.

Site which cannot be named has pictures of the ride vehicles being delivered.

There have already been some ride vehicles in the ride building for several months.

Yep, despite what that site might have you believe, vehicles were delivered months ago

There are hundreds of comparisons to show that is not the reason why.

Regional parks build large scale attractions faster than Disney. Other destination theme park resorts build attractions(multiple) faster than this.

Disney doesn’t have building problems. Disney simply doesn’t have a financial incentive to push Tron to have gotten it done any earlier. Once Covid came into the picture (meaning overseas, not waiting for first cases here in US) every major international company knew was going to hit the fan. There was absolutely no reason to get Tron built up only to have it sir in a park that was shut down, or operating at less than full capacity.

Then looking further out you had the 50th anniversary, and the pent up domestic travel demand that came from Covid starting to wind down. You didn’t need a brand new ride to spark interest or drive attendance at parks, you already had it.

Then you had Rat which was further along in construction (completed but not opended right away) and GotG which was further along in development. Your not going to open three new rides at the same time. That cannibalizes the impact of each new opening. So you got Rat at the end of this year loosely coinciding with the start of the 50th. You will get GotG in q2 2022 at roughly the halfway point of the 50th celebration and at the start of the summer season. Then you likely get Tron near end or 50th celebration.

There was never any need to push full speed and build Tron (or any other new attraction) as quickly as possible.
