There’s a possibility they could actually have this open by the end of this year? I’d be happy with a least the RR lol.
We will see. I was only saying it is theoretically possible. No idea what the actual schedule is. Curious to see what is wrong with those elements being pulled out. Is it a 1-week fix or a several-month fix? That will influence the schedule.

Still better than leaving the building sealed until October. They would have noticed this problem then and had an even bigger issue.

Do we know for sure there is something wrong with these elements?

No, but why remove them?
These elements were likely fabricated by outside vendors and were delivered according to the original schedule. It’s possible they have been using the building as a warehouse to store items from vendors, shops, and WDI while the build was paused. Now that interior construction is resuming they need to move these items to another location until they are ready for their proper installation.

Are you saying there were using the warehouse as a warehouse?!!??

I like this answer and I choose to believe this is the case.

If Disney wanted to, would it not be possible to have the railway open with a one way only trip to Frontierland? Once there have the driver reverse the train back to Main Street station and pick some more people up? I'm not sure whether it can go in reverse or if so whether it's worth the 'hassle' but could it even be an option?

The trains can reverse and do every day to get back to the roundhouse. Shuttle mode was offered in the past such as during the construction of Splash Mountain. Since then operational safety guidelines have changes such that Disney no longer considers shuttle mode to be an appropriate offering.

I'm hoping at least the scrim comes down by October and we can see the train parked in the station.

It's weird, the past two Octobers we went (2014 and 2017), the train was in a refurb. I'm used to it.
The biggest thing missing in the park is the train whistle first thing in the morning. Loved sitting out on the balcony and hearing that while the rest of the family was still asleep.

Yes.

That’s what makes opinions interesting.
Does anyone think tron "the ride" is the best use of this precious space. Does anyone think tron is anything special or remotely clever as a roller coaster? Disney aside. I mean universal just soft opened what could be one of the best roller coasters on earth....your move disney...oh tthats a pretty canopy.

Disney will probably never build roller coasters as wild as Universals, it's not that type of park. R'n'R is probably as 'wild' as they'll get so if you're waiting for Disney to suddenly change tact, you'll probably be in for a long wait. When you ask "Does anyone think tron "the ride" is the best use of this precious space", you'll get different answers from different people as it's all subjective.

Firstly for a family that loves white knuckle rides, the Magic Kingdom really isn't the place for them to go is it? Islands of Adventure is where they should head as that's the demographic that park is more suitable for. For a family who likes Disney and it's magical, nostalgic appeal, the Magic Kingdom is far more suitable. It contains some 'exciting rides' that go faster whilst not built to challenge the courage of the rider and get the adrenaline really pumping, rather it tells stories in a more gentle way.

Bearing that in mind then I'd imagine that a great many people will really enjoy this ride and it will perhaps allow younger kids who are intimidated by larger, faster coasters to ride with their parents on a coaster of sorts. Whilst it doesn't sound like this is the attraction for you, it's designed to be in a park where a great many people will ride and enjoy it. I can't wait to ride Universal's VelociCoaster this October, probably more so than Tron (whenever that opens). However a coaster like that was never going to be built in the Magic Kingdom, it just doesn't fit.

As for "Does anyone think tron is anything special or remotely clever as a roller coaster?", well again it's subjective. If by 'clever' you mean themed or a good idea, then I'm sure many will say yes. The 'theming' is based on the movie and some of it looks pretty cool and captures some of the bike chase scenes rather well. Is it 'clever', again subjective but I'd say yes to that too. They've taken a coaster of sorts and incorporated it into a scene from the movie using a good number of sets.

I'm not criticising the VelociCoaster when I say this but if we're talking theming and cleverness of rides as coasters, the VelociCoaster is probably less themed and less clever than Tron. The videos I've seen show very little theming other than some static dinosaurs and sound effects of them chasing you? I'm saying this from the perspective of somebody who personally believes the VelociCoaster to be the better attraction, I'm certainly not trying to put it down. I'll ride the VelociCoaster for the speed, the drops and loops and I can't wait to go on it. It's not a ride that needs special effects to add to it, it's fine as it is and you're riding it primarily for the thrills with the connection to the film being extremely minimal to none existent with regards to the enjoyment aspect.

I can pretty much guarantee you that the designers of both these attractions will have given no thought whatsoever to the other attraction and made comparisons, they're not competing for the same demographic at all. We can debate which is the better attraction for individuals based on what they like from a ride, but that's so subjective it's almost futile. If a large number of people ride Tron and enjoy doing so, Disney will have achieved their goal as that's their objective. To make a roller coaster as 'good' as Universals was never their goal if 'good' is defined as faster or as frightening in my humble opinion anyway.

Your right creating a raptor padock is less ingenious than a large box with some screens and black lights. Your argument is basically well disney never does this so? That circles back into "should it have been built" right next to one of those family friendly coasters you talk about. ps by age 10 most kids can ride mako...soooo im not sure whats not family friendly about that. Or do you age out of family friendly once your not impressed by 7DMT? Further more the coaster down the street is very accessible from a height requirement and overall intensity stand point. Im not comparing the two in the sense of competing with each other im comparing them on there own merits as compelling fun coasters. Light cycle run is a rehashed steeple chase...its also amazingly short and themed to an IP that holds more water than a strainer. Not sure how the velociraptor coaster is not tied to the movie? They legitimately built animatronic raptors for the que. Let alone characters everyone will actually recognize. Sorry if i feel that is a touch above an IP that most people couldn't name a single character from. Heck i dont even know the arc of the tron movie aside getting sucked into some video game machine. Do we want to talk about the commitment to actually open the thing? Heck we cant even enjoy rat. ps not sure if your unaware but universal has caught up...they just dont have the nostalgia to milk.

You should be a disney vacation rep. It suits you.

That's so difficult to read, you sound like you were in a rage when you wrote it? :D

We just see things differently, that's all. I answered all your questions honestly, what's the problem? As for me being a Disney vacation rep, how odd. I've actually just said that I think the VelociCoaster is the better attraction for me, pretty sure a Disney rep wouldn't have said that :D

They just need to somehow start doing amazing night shows every night and they would be in the discussion. I know they can do amazing entertainment, HHN is amazing, Christmas is now quite good too, but they need to do a better job with their standard shows.
