Seriously? Currently, 4 out of the top 5 movies of the year domestically (and the top three of the summer) are Super-hero flicks.

People have been saying that fatigue is going to set in for years and years now... my question is when is it going to happen because it doesn't seem like anytime soon.

I think after this Avengers timeline is complete (after Infinity War 2) and the MCU "reboots", you may find it starting to wane. But I could be completely wrong too.

It already is, it is just a slow wane and then the comics, toons and reboot go again in eight to ten years. Like the company has done with the live action reboot of animated hits, just with a shorter turn around time. Marvel heros are like the next generation's Bond. Nrlew faces every decade or less but the pop culture and merch make the mula to make them happy with minimal park presence.

In a Disney community? You don't say....

Oh really? I look forward to your citations for these claims

Someone here recently posted a survey from a reputable theme park surveyor and the top 10 attractions in Universal and Disney parks were all coasters and screen rides. If i run across that post again ill quote you.

But it is and they are worried. Even though they still perform well. They are concerned fatigue is setting in. It's not just guessing on our parts, I've seen a few articles suggesting they are concerned. Look at what Disney considers "failures" when they actually made good money.

I can see why they could be Worried about how much Infinity Wars will make... but that's only because it's the most expensive movie ever made due to the cast (upwards of $1Billion budget), but in general, superhero movies will always be popular.

I suppose they will. Some more so than others. But there's going to be a tipping point, there is with everything. I think it's become a bit overkill but that doesn't mean everyone else agrees. They'll continue to make good money. Studios are riding the wave for now.

I also think Spider-Man didn't hit it as big at the BO because this is the third iteration of the character on screen in the last 15 years.

If there's fatigue of anything, I think it's Spider-man fatigue and people not wanting to be fooled again. But Homecoming was FINALLY the Spider-man movie we've been waiting for.

"They" have been saying and writing about superhero fatigue for a long time. But they've been wrong.

Even stinkers like Fant4stic haven't slowed down the genre. GotG2 made more money than GotG1.

People 'thinking' it's happening, or worrying about it, or writing about it is not the same thing as something actually happening. They need to offer proof that's more than anecdotal.

We don't have to guess about it, we have box office receipts. There's no superhero fatigue

There is.. in that people are sick and tired of seeing batman rebooted half a dozen times. Marvel got kinda smart and jumped off into all kinds of weird side characters, and it's working for them.

Homecoming is closing in on .6 million dollars... that's not disappointing. It's still doing $3-6 million per day. In the end, it will probably do as well as the other ones. It's already got the #2 - #3 spot in ratings. If the critics are fatiguing, their scores aren't showing it.

I agree. I know it did very well but I wanted it to do even better.

And it was. Absolutely loved it. Personally I never bothered with the Andrew Garfield version.

But they have "the receipts" so ... case closed apparently ;)

That was actually a false rumor however it still could be the most expensive movie ever made at around 400 million.

So hearsay AND paraphrased too.. bonus points.
And your claims on ticket sales too?

Let's just accept that while certain demographics appreciate thrills more than experiences... there is good reason Disney has been successful for 50+ years WITHOUT focusing on coasters as it's bread and butter.
