Honestly, Tron fits really well with Tomorrowland. We're spending more and more of our lives "inside the computer." We have our real selves and our online personas. Our online personas mirror a lot of who we are, but also kind of have their own lives, saying things and "going places" we aren't able to experience in the real world. Tron, at its heart, was always social commentary using computers as the tool to describe an alternate reality. If anything, the 1982 film was forward thinking and predicted where we're heading as a society. Not literally, of course, but in a high-level sense describing modern communication and technology's influence on the "real world." Besides that, both films had an amazing artistic aesthetic that people enjoy experiencing in a real-world setting. I think the ride will be hugely popular.

What's wrong with the ride system? I liked the shanghai version

Im guessing that some people really do not find the hunched over motorcycle stance to be very comfortable...As a 6'4.5" person, Im really close to the point of being extremely uncomfortable on most rides...

Many coaster systems are just not fun for me, due specifically to the seating and safety systems. The original Batman coaster at Six Flags is a ride I cant go on. The height limit is 6'4". I've been on it before, but every time I moved, it felt like my shoulder was going to snap.

See speedway ;)

Or put it in DHS. Or did that ship sail with a certain sci fi IP??

Yeah, but assuming they do the Speedway it's only because they're already putting Tron behind it... for the light cycles.

Spending time, money, and park space on Tron that doesn't deliver the one worthwhile element of that movie would be like Disney building a 20,000 Leagues ride with no submarines.

And sure, Tron could go into MGM because at this point pretty much anything can go into MGM.

Spending time and a huge amount of money on a rollercoaster in the dark next to a rollercoaster in the dark is short sighted when so much else could have been done with the massive budget. IMHO.

But of course the kids will love it.

I'm 6'3" and my partner is 6'2" and we found Tron to be quite comfortable

It's a very different rollercoaster in the dark next to a rollercoaster in the dark that has been there for many decades.
I'm 55 - no kid - and I love it.
Plus, it's a visually beautiful addition to the park and to Tommorowland.
